That said, he likes Calipari's "platoon" system, in which five centers and power forwards are logging between 12 and 25 minutes per game.

"Oh, his platoons are great," Bryant said. "With that, everybody plays the same, equal minutes. He utilizes everybody that's in that platoon system, and puts the team together that plays the best together, whether that's the White platoon or the Blue platoon."

UK could have any number of players turn pro after this season. Bryant said he knows "for sure two of them - Willie Cauley-Stein and Karl Towns - are first-round draft picks," and he'll keep evaluating the rest of the Cats to see who's likely to stay or go.

Bryant, a native of upstate New York, has been pegged as a Syracuse lean since he was an underclassman, and his mother seems to favor the Orange. She's also said that UK, specifically, "isn't the right place" for her son.

By all means, momma, go to Syracuse where your son will be ridiculed by the coach and publicly called out as not ready for the NBA.

1. Maybe, she feels he needs to be closer to home. 2. Maybe she feels he should not play for a year or two? Maybe he can't plan man-to-man defense? Other than these reasons, I do not see how a rational person would send their son to SYRACUSE over UK.

Some just don't get it: efficiency over minutes. In the platoon system you can showcase your best because you don't have to pace yourself. KY provides the best stage for the show. Maybe you are not an opening act every night but you do get to show your skills. NBA scouts don't need a lot of time for evaluations.

Thomas likes platooning? Well so do we at UK. So forget mom and come on down young Mr. Bryant.

I am sure his mother has his best interests at heart, but I am curious as to why you would want your child going to college at a place currently being investigated by the NCAA.

Momma Bryant obviously hasn't heard the million dollar proposal yet from Calipari, as in how much Bryant will make in the league as a result of playing for Kentucky.

Once that occurs, it's nothing but red velvet cake, ladies and gentlemen.
