Does Kentucky's three-heavy offense neutralize Cooper Flagg?

I would find that pretty encouraging personally…15-10-5 and he didn’t shoot well…
Volume scoring is not encouraging/appealing. 5-15 would be a BAD offensive game

The other stats (assists good, steals very good, rebounds were fine) were though, I'll give you that.

Forget the completely new coaching staff?
I don't think that matters when the players are all new too. It matters when you have a bunch of returning kids used to how the old coach did things. But with most P5 schools 70-80% of the players have new (to them) coaches.

dUKe just beat Arizona State by 56. I think they are going to be very difficult to beat and Kentucky will have an uphill climb. The Cats need to be focused and ready to rebound and defend. Hopefully, the experienced veterans of UK will be able to offset some of the talent gap. GBB!

Not sure where the confidence is coming from with a completely new coaching staff and roster. We have no idea how we will look against legit competition.
One could ask where your negativity is coming from as well. We know Pope is a good coach and the players all have experience and are proven. Why wouldn’t a UK fan not think positively is the real question.

Well at the half, I am not that impressed with Flagg, he is a good player but that other white kid is the better of the two at least tonite. UK is letting Duke push them out and they stopped moving the ball at times because of it. Easy fix, if you have Duke spread out, we need more hard cuts to the middle of the floor and basket.

What am I crying about? I’m content with this performance. That doesn’t mean he’s a proven good coach.
One team has 3 NBA players and according to a large group on this forum the other has none and that roster was made in 2 months and it’s a 1 point game.

Cool. Upsets never happen. Sorry that I want more of a sample size.
I know all about sample size, as a statistician. And sure, if those 2 teams, as they are now, played 10 times, Duke wins 6, maybe even 7 of them.
But that was not the point of this thread. The claim made was that UK had no chance because Flagg is so dominant. Not just good or very good, but a generational FR talent. Wrong, wrong, and wrong.

How’s that sample size doing? You hungry? I can fix you a plate of humble pie or crow.
One game? Are you stupid? Where did I ever hint I didn’t want us to win? I’m just saying I need more proof this guy is the messiah like so many of you are advocating.

upsets happen but bad teams dont upset good teams. The game showed we were capable of beating anyone and thats good enough. We shouldnt be expecting to beat everyone, we should expect to lose some games but what we showed was a heart, a fire, determination to die hard . We might lose and go down but its going to be a bloody war and the other team is going to earn it. And thats all I can ask for as with that and the recruits Pope is getting, eventually one year we'll win the title.

Never said 1 was good enough especially for someone looking for failures. If you don’t think there wasn’t tons of adjustments made and if you have doubts about Pope, he just beat a team to now reportedly have 4 NBA players with a 2 month old team he just whipped up. An achievement the predecessor couldn’t do for years. Take as long as you need, but when you come to the conclusion the rest of the world has then come on back and finish the talk.

Yes, I think Flagg will be fighting an up hill battle the whole night as UK will come at duke in waves.
Flagg doesnt have a great supporting cast IMHO.
Our depth will wear Duke down and Kentucky will win going away by say 16 points.
And if the Zebras allow Flagg to get into early foul trouble we could beat Duke by 30.
Whose laughing now?
