Still on board with Stoops. I truly hope he keeps 1 f'n Offensive Coordinator and lets him do his work. I know he (Coen) was here 2 years ago, but I have seen enough of Leary. Leary has shown his high grade on portal list is questionable. Kick the wheels of some pocket passers. It doesn't get much better in College than Liam IMO. He is verifiable a NFL Coordinator/QB Coach. Let him do work. Hope Liam is seeing the limitations of our current QB... Both Mental and Physical.
Never thought Stoops was that good of a coach he is very average and never wins big games.
The game was too close imo for Coen to totally abandon his game plan and put it in Leary’s hands. Mizzou was pinning our ears back in the second half and he didn’t have an answer other than dropping Leary five steps? He also does some shit like that Brown bomb that Leary hasn’t hit all year and is incapable of hitting. Just stick with what’s working for you and use the same tempo while you have momentum. I think he’s a good OC but he needs to stop doing Shannon Dawson level shit by thinking he’s the smartest guy in the room.

We were 8th in average star rating which supposedly gives us a better quality recruiting class, development the last couple of years has been a major issue. And Leary wasn’t the answer unfortunately.When you’re bottom tier in sec recruiting you’re going to be bottom tier in winning. just the way it is. always has been.

I stayed away from football all week. Just took a break (was on here a few times) but other than that, did not watch the pod casts, listen to radio, coaches interviews, players interviews. I predicted we would lose just on past Stoops teams. I did not know who we had playing or not playing or any of that. I did turn on the game and watched on and off some of the first half. I turned back and forth from Fox, BBC, CNN and the game in the first half. I just kept the TV on Fox last night. My brother texted me on the game. I did not turn it on at all in the 2nd half.
I love KY football but some times i just need a break from it. I will take off the next 2 weeks from listening to Stoops interviews and such and just put my time towards other things. Will check in here a bit during the week and weekend and then Tennessee game will watch and see how we do then.

You actually just watched Fox News last night instead of football or UK. I can't imagine something worse than that.
You can’t lose like this 2 weeks in a row and look inept. Plus call out the fan base for money. He stepped in it this week and it’s going to get worse for him. He loses to UL this year and the gloves are going to come off. He lost alot of his equity he built up over the years with the debacles of the last 8 days.
I think we probably finish 7-5. That includes a UL win he will get some favor back. He goes 6-6 or 5-7 and loses to UL dude is going to finally feel it and maybe Barney too.

I cant see a lot of fight left in this bunch by the time we play those next 4 SEC games , we gonna beat UT ? Bama ? A road SEC win ? I'm afraid by the time we roll into week 12 the team will be a shell of itself , a team that shoulda been 6-1 going into the bye week .
There are some other good young men on this team, Horsey comes mind quickly.

Dropped almost $1,000 for 4 tickets and a hotel for the family this weekend to get served that shit sandwich last night. Ouch.
I think he's a pretty good motivator and coaches the guys up to be tough and physical, but X's and O's, gameplanning, discipline, situational awareness, etc, etc...he's below average at best.
Well, I did leave the stands right before halftime to beat the crowd in concession area, so I may have missed hearing them, but no one in our section was booing and I was there until 3 minutes to go in the game. Lots of PO'ed fans though, including me, really pitiful performance over the last three quarters.
Fans fell in love with stoops because of the selfless blue collar culture he instilled and injected into the program. That's gone. Last two games we saw a team come completely unraveled and commit numerous selfish acts which include penalties and playing completely for themselves.
Jmo but this staff isn't adjusting well to the portal era. They're terrified the blue collar approach will send talent fleeing into the portal. They need to find a better balance and fast.
Also just an fyi: don't be surprised to see some names, especially #2s, go in the portal or leave the program. Things are spiraling and kids are going home for the bye. Going to be tons of voices in their ears and much of it influenced by back channel communications from other teams. Never getting their chance while the same few guys get preferential treatment is going to cost us a few guys.

Ask yourself this, if Lane Kiffen was the UK coach last year and this year, do you think UK would have a better record? Ole miss recruits at about the same level as UK.

my expectations are more tempered than some, and I kinda understand the logic of paying Stoops the money he is being paid. Don't get me wrong, I don't think he *should* be paid that, but I firmly believe the money is to insure UK isn't an SEC doormat and keep fan interest to the point they pack the stadium , travel and get a decent bowl game - not to be SEC champion. UK has several challenges when it comes to football starting with in state talent. The coach of KY is going to have to build his team from Ohio, Florida and the transfer portal, and he has to make UK a destination if he wants to be successful.

Losing to UGA the way we did SUCKED but is something UK fans can see how it happened. BUT, losing to Mizzou at home after going up 14-0 the way we did at this point in the Stoops tenure is UNACCEPTABLE!!!!
UK has to play with PRECISION and DISCIPLINE to get to the highest level attainable. Coach Stoops KNOWS this, yet STILL allows SLOPPY play and DUMB mistakes!!!

For the penalties I blame Stoops and the coaches, missing blocks, dropping passes and missing open receivers isn’t on Stoops. His players aren’t ready to take the next step, and UT isn’t going to make them feel any better.
Not even top 50 results a 9 win year every 5-10 years ain’t top 50. Because Kentucky was bad for so long we looked at 9 wins as the best thing ever. But for me the constant mental mistakes, penalties, getting out coached, knowing in any big game they will lose. Stoops and this play not to lose crap in the year 2023 is pathetic.

Some perspective, Cal sighed his extention after they finished the season 30-7, elite 8, and UCLA was sniffing around. Stoops signed his and went out and lost to Vandy at home. Mediocrity was already there with Stoops, it showed up a few years later with Cal.
Exactly this! Would you rather be 6-6 and have a team that played like "sleep inducing" Iowa or 6-6 and have a team that plays like Tennessee or Ole Miss? I know what I'm choosing. Why do so many UK fans just assume that exciting football equals losing football? Is it because of Hal Mumme? Is that their only rationale?
Also, UK is not a football school, Cal was right, I know that hurts Stoops feelings. It's hard to win and maintain winning. That being said, I think there is a lot of coaches out there that can win 6 or 7 wins a year at UK, (considering you play 4 guaranteed wins) and for half the price.
