Who ya got?

My list is this:

1) Idris Elba
2) Tom Hiddleston
3) Michael Fassbender
4) Henry Cavill
5) (Darkhorse) Andrew Lincoln (Aka Rick from TWD)

I hope it's not Hiddleston. I'd be down with Elba or Fassbender from the list you gave.

I'm all for Elba. 1. he's an incredible actor 2. he fits all the qualities and 3. If you vote for anyone else, you'll probably be called a racist.

Elba is your guy.

But the director of Spectre said Elba was too "street" lol. Evidently that director has no clue where Elba came from lol...

I'd prefer Fassbender. Thought I heard some scuttlebutt that it was going to be Damian Lewis.

Cavvil, Hardy, Elba and Fasbender are all great options. Another option might be David Tenant. I'm anxious to see how he does as the Purple Man in the new Jessica Jones series.

Problem with Elba is that he's already 43. Hiddleston would work, he only needs to bulk up 15-20 lbs of muscle, and is 34. I'm fine with Fassbender too but like Elba you'd get maybe 8-10 years in the role. If I was casting Bond, I'd look to a guy in his late 20's, early 30's at most and let him grow into the role.

Here's thinking outside the box. Why not TWO Double O's in the next Bond film? That way you can fit Elba in as the other Double O and if it works, let him head a new franchise without the weight/expectation/legacy of being 007.

Idris Elba would be very cool. Hardy is incredible but I don't know if he's right for the role.

There are some good ones already mentioned. Christian Bale, Benedict Cumberbatch, Charlie Hunnam, Joe Edgerton, Kit Harrington?

From the OP's list, I'd go with Fassbender. From your suggestion, Jamie Bell would be a possibility... but he's probably a little too short at 5-7.

Bond isn't supposed to be buff. Go back and watch or look at pic's at Sean Connery in the beginning. He isn't buff or incredibly in shape. Bond is supposed to be skinny, attractive, suave, cocky, witty, and a bit of a jackass if you read the book, this to me is dead on what Bond should look like:

Ooh. Great picks. I completely forgot about a lot of those guys. Edgerton would be fun and Hunnam would be extremely interesting. It's hard to imagine him in that role after 8 seasons of SOA.

Yeah this the problem with Lincoln and Hiddleston. Everyone sees them as Rick and Loki
Side note.... has anyone seen "Moon" played by Hiddleston. He did a fantastic job for that role and it was a really good movie. He is good and can adapt into any role he plays.

That said, Elba is smooth as ish. I would like to see him as Bond.

So yay or nay on Todd Chrisley?

How about James McAvoy? He is Scottish and a pretty good actor in my opinion. He has done at least 1 action movie role. His negatives are he is also a shorter actor at like 5'7" and he has one of those baby faces like Michael J. Fox. He is 36, but he looks a lot younger.

I know of MOON with Sam Rockwell... absolutely incredible movie! There is another one?

1. Can't be that young. Bond was an ex Commander in the Royal Navy. That's a Lieutenant Colonel. Don't get there in your 20s. Add in a few more years of training after going into Her Majestys Secret Service and the experience to get to 007 level and you're looking at at least 35 to 38.

2. Have to be not only good looking but also intimidating. Dangerous. Baby faces won't do the trick. You have to look like killing or the thought of being killed doesn't faze you.

3. Can't be too old either. No one who can't get in a ten or twelve year run before looking over the hill need apply.

4. Elba is right on the edge of being too old. Fassbender would be perfect. Hiddleston maybe. Hardy just doesn't project the smooth, suave killer aura to me.

Fassbender is boring. I like Craig because he put a little edge on the character. Brosnan was good because he's so naturally suave and smooth. I don't get either from Fassbender.

I think both Edgerton and Hunnam would be good picks. I like Edgerton. He's a great actor. He is also in kind of a similar place that Craig was befor he took the role. He's a well known actor but not a household name yet.
