He’s so grateful and thankful to us he’s leaving.

I always laugh when athletes do that. I think I'd have more respect if Key just said "I'm leaving because I don't wanna be at UK anymore because Stoops sucks". At least it would be honest.

I was thinking the same thing. Just say you want to go so somewhere where you can win.

Why can’t he truly be grateful for the opportunities and memories he had while at UK, and still wanting to pursue better opportunities?

Or is it “the amazing program” part of his message that you have the problem with?
If so, that makes more sense.

Stoops probably asked him to move on along with BB for causing the offense to suck in spite of having one of the best offensive systems in the country. Stoops knows it's one of the best offensive systems in the country because...well, sometimes you just know; you have to listen to your gut.

I think Key just wants a bidding war / NIL windfall his last yr . Maybe that’s been the plan . Set for life prior to NFL. I think he might be in the portal regardless of where he’d played prior. He may even be a #2 or 3 somewhere else big with lots of cash
