D-League

Good morning folks.

Got some arthritis in my knee this morning and I’m hobbling around like an old man. Wait. I AM an old man. 69 is old by any measure.

I still beat the rain to grind out a 3-mile run. Now I’m at a car dealers trying to once and for all get rid of my extra car after my MIL aged out of driving and gave us hers.

Got a good feeling that the Cats will strike in the transfer portal today. Or not.

I hope you all have a good one.
Md, Mary Ingles closed again at Tower Hill Rd due to landslide from above. Don't think newly-redone road is damaged.

Morning D-Leaguers!

More rain this morning. Started around 0230 and is supposed to go most of the day. High to be in the mid 50's.

Reds  Not a very good start to the season as they are shutout 1-0 for the third day in a row. Now sit at 2-5.

Well, TGIF for you grinders. Crank that music loud and make the monkey dance into the weekend.

Happy Friday and God Bless.
The Cards scored 9 runs and LOST.

Good morning folks.

I twisted my knee running yesterday and aggravated my arthritic joint, so I am forced to take it easy today. I can barely hobble around so even a slow jog just won’t happen.

My wife and daughter got back late yesterday from Santa Fe and Taos. Had a great time.

I guess we have Final Four games today. My interest is pretty low.

Hope it is shaping up to be a nice weekend for all y’all.

Good morning D, well you just won't believe this, but it's raining in the Berg. I set a 5 gallon bucket on the deck when it started raining Wednesday and it likes about 2" being full! I've emptied the rain gauge twice, 7 1/4", 5 3/4 and checked it a few and it's got another 4" and still raining! I saw the weather channel this morning, Reynolds Wolf is still in Paducah, looks like Paducah is getting ready to close the flood wall gates there! My rain son-in-law is a river boat pilot, can't imagine how it is trying to move a barge line against the current!!! Have a great day D!!!!

Good morning everyone.

We're not getting the big rain in the far SE corner of the state. Just a county or so north though is a different story. My family in central KY is flooded in (or out in the case of my teenage nephew).

I'm not sure if I'll watch the games tonight. We'll see. Ha...the name of my kayak??? We'll see, We'll Sea, Will C. take your pick, but it's actually the middle one. I think I would dread Duke winning tonight more that our loss to Tennessee. ABD!!

I hope everyone stays dry and has a great day.

The Cards scored 9 runs and LOST.
Reds finally scored 2 last night in the 8th inning (after 35 innings of no scoring) only to lose 3-2. another loss by 1 run. I believe I read somewhere that the Reds were 2nd or third last year in losing games by 1 run.

Mathematically, we are still in the hunt though. 😁 Yeah, I know it is way too early for that but...needing some comic relief as much as scoring right now for the season is long.

I spent 12 hours yesterday at the shop ((with rest breaks-I am 77) with a shop vac and squeegee and outside with a shovel trying to divert water and save my driveway. I don't know how much water we have had, but they are calling for 5 more inches today. I've always heard you don't own your things, they own you.

Have you ever seen the flood gates closed? I can't imagine how much water is going through the gates at Kentucky and Barkley!!!!

Hello all,

May drier days come to those with too much but may God's will be done and not mine.....

Oh what I could tell. May not be retiring after all. In any event, I know God will give me EXACTLY what I need at the exact time I need it so no concern. My desire is to hang it up but I still am not against doing the job with gusto.... I have good people. Not a clunker in the bunch. (38 directs, never had this type of luxury.)

Anyway, I was off yesterday except for two meetings. I took one meeting in the woods of Lorton Virginia while My Darling was picking some delicacies.

The BB had a party at his school yesterday. My Darling and I had a blast. Then we hit the woods...

My Darling and I passed out cupcakes and drinks at the children's lunch session. The BB hugged me as I was leaving and said, thanks Papa.

As the BB went to hug his "Ama", about ten kids swarmed My Darling. This was so cool.

I am thankful...

@BBUK What do you and your wife harvest to eat? The other day when it was PB & jelly day my jelly of choice was........................kudzu jelly. Yes, the vine (bloom) that has invaded eastern KY. We've also made jelly out of autumn olive berries ( I try not to use the word hate often but autumn olive shrubs and yellow jackets fit the bill), dandelion blooms, and redbud blooms. I've eaten many different types of wild mushrooms and plenty of wild greens.

I will ask my wife. I know the names but may not say them correctly. Once I translate them, I will post better information. My Darling is just a seriously tremendous cook.

This is one... Plentiful here and in Kentucky and Tennessee...

Yesterdays catch wasn't a lot but it will make for a few good add-ons to meals and give one elderly neighbor lady and her husband a good side dish for their meals.

These are best when not too big. The next few weeks should be great for them.

Just good eating....

Note: there is a similar tree that has no spikes or thorns. Those are poisonous!!!

Just had peanut butter and strawberry preserves for lunch today. Gotta love it.

My Darling made me and the BB pancakes. I had a cup of coffee with them. I just caught banana's at Walmart for 25 cents a pound and they were actually ripe and not deep green so I bought a bunch. (I love 25 cent a pound banana's.) My Darling had bought me a bunch for dinner next week at work and they are actually ripening. For lunch today I had a banana and coffee.

The BB has his birthday party with his friends at some play place at 2:30 so My Darling and I are heading there after we pick up his cake...

Really irks me the birthday "weeks" they have now.

Yesterday his school party, (His school also had a bingo night for the kids so the BB and I went to that as well. Got home just before 9pm.) today his true birthday party, and tomorrow my daughter wants to have his birthday supper, I dearly love my grandson and grandchildren but they all do this and it is too much.

I was lucky to get a cake and five dollars growing up but I am thankful...

Get up at 4:18 during the work week so....

Watching a program about the deep blue sea. Flying fish escaping the grasp of the Darago (spelling) fish by jumping out of the water and gliding for a good distance before re-entering the water. But sometimes, Fregatidae (spelling) birds work in tangent (not by design) and are waiting for them to come out of water and snatch them up. Death from above and below. Life is rough.

After the BB's birthday party, on the way home My Darling and I stopped at a place we know to pick some more of the items she likes. I took a picture but it didn't come out super good but it came out..

Actually picked up more in twenty or so minutes than we picked in a couple miles worth of walking through the woods yesterday... ;)

Got a good mess now...

😁

Have a great Sunday morning D-League. The Duke Blue Devils lost...a wonderful comeback by Houston/collapse by Duke.

Houston coach down 6 with 1:15 or less to go decided not to foul Duke, let them run the time off the clock and try to stop them. Houston stopped them, went down and hit a 3 with 30 something seconds left...and then it was game on. Duke had trouble inbounding the ball against Houston's press. Houston gets a steal that turns into 2 points cutting it to a one point Duke lead.

Ended up 70-67 Houston. WonderBoy Flagg missed the chance at a game winner. haha

And that's PUKE!!!!

......

Good morning folks.

Wow, what an epic collapse by Duke. That was almost —almost —as fun as the 1998 Comeback Cats win after being down 17 with nine minutes to go.

I kinda want Houston to win it all now. Sampson is like some old dog that lost an ear to a coyote as a pup and limps from being sideswiped by a car, but still hangs in there as a survivor. And Houston as a program has had terrible tourney luck dating back to that 1983 NC State finals. It almost seems like fate owes them one.

VH —The outlying areas of the Grove floods at 60 feet. Much higher and I’ll have friends and family in jeopardy.

Have a great Sunday folks.

Good morning all,

Sitting in my church parking lot drinking coffee. My Darling is at choir practice. I will go inside shortly.

Lots of little things to do today. My Darling is cooking at the "demand" of my daughters. I have to mop a floor and put the rugs back down ...

Somehow have to make time to finish my taxes, owe a chunk this year, dang, but need to go back over everything.

Readying for the office tomorrow as well...

Pollen here is off the charts...

I hope you all have a blessed Lord's day....

JOHN WAYNE IS DUKE, JOHN WAYNE IS DUKE, JOHN WAYNE IS DUKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those things are and have ALWAYS been..................pretenders... They are PUKE and ALWAYS will be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What do you do when you take a dump! You DUKE!

Used to be "What do you do when you take a dump? You Grunt! Referencing 11B (infantry)
