D-League

Good morning everyone.

We made it back to KY last night after 10 days in FL. Winter trips south are the best.

I hope the team can turn it on now that we're in March. I think they have the potential, but March is difficult even if you're head and shoulders the best team in the country. I hope Auburn finds that out this afternoon.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Read somewhere that this is only the 6th #1 team to visit Rupp. Doesn't seem possible. This would be a huge win for these beaten up Cats. Auburn, arguably the best team in the land, has dominated a conference that could be the best ever. We'll see if the SEC holds that honor after the NCAA tournament. Experts said the same thing about the Big East when they had 11 teams in the field but only 2 made it through the 1st weekend. Unfortunately UConn won the title that year but still.

Go Cats!!! They tend to really rise up for the big games.

19-year-old me in an apartment in Frankfort Germany in 1977. This was during the time I spent with a young lady who was in a ballet troupe that was from New York traveling Europe giving performances. I met her at an indoor swimming pool and we struck up a conversation and started seeing each other. I was stationed in Hanau about 10-15 kilometers from Frankfort and would visit her apartment on the weekends. Mustache was not fully formed then but it came along. Also, we were given a lot of leeway with our hair because at that time Germany was experiencing a lot of problems with terrorist targeting American soldiers so, the Army relaxed its standards for hair and mustaches so we could blend in.

ROTFLCGU,

My apologies and please understand I am NOT picking on you Sir or trying to provoke. I just came back from our church men's breakfast. The last thing I am doing is trying to provoke YOU. Having stated that in all truth. (i KNOW my limitations knowing your background the way I do and vividly realizing you would turn me every way but loose.) I DO hope you understand....

You had them AD Brow's going on too..... (A little...)

Pray for me members of the D-League that brother Sir Warrior is understanding and is a forgiving sort AND doesn't know where I live...... Amen...

If we ever meet, I will buy you supper, drinks, I will name my next child after you... Please forgive me...

I got a BIG mouth....

Proving again.... I "ain't" got the sense God gave a goose....

90%+ of home games are either SEC or cupcake teams. How many SEC teams have ever been #1 besides us? Few and rarely. Only other chances are the likes of NC/IU/LV which aren't often.

Unfortunate half for UK. 2 banked in 3s, a bogus flagrant 1, a no-touch foul on a 3-point shot. Defense as always is sub-par. At this point I hope they just make a good game of it because it's doubtful they come back against this Auburn team.

We have to lead the nation in opponents banking in 3s this year. I swear we have had at least like 15 bullsh-t banked in threes made against us.

Well, that didn't go well. 16-point loss at home and it sure felt like it was a lot more than that. From the 7:30 mark in the first half to the 16:30 mark in the second half UK didn't have a FG. That's 11 minutes. Our 3-point shooting has really fallen. Brea is not the threat he was earlier in the season. Almonor? Where is he these days? Robinson was lighting it up before he got hurt. Other than that they look like the walking wounded. Carr with a back brace, Butler with a shoulder brace, Robinson with a wrist brace, Kriisa? Well we probably won't see him play in a Kentucky uniform again.

Still 2 games left. Should beat LSU. Mizzou at home is practically unbeatable so I'm guessing the Cats will get their 20-win season and avoid a losing SEC record. How many times has that happened since the 40s? Not trying to be negative because there's still plenty of basketball yet to be played. Auburn is just a much better team. It's all about matchups when it comes to tournament play.

I can tell you that not only did I have them but so did my twin sons. They trim them now as do I but you can still tell they were there. Picture is about 12 years ago.

@BBUK I can tell you that you never have to worry about how I take things, I am thick skinned, But I also post things that could be taken the wrong way all of the time. Never meaning to be disrespectful or hurtful, just honest and in good fun most of the time.

Edited: you could have ribbed me about those 70's clothes I was wearing. Especially that shirt. That was vintage 70's. However, that ballerina like it so... Just now while typing I remembered her name. Belinda Jackson.

Yeah I almost made a comment about your clothes but then I thought about it. I wore the same stuff.

Thanks, as with several of you here, I know we'd be real good friends. That thought keeps me here hoping one day we get a chance to meet. If not the joy this thread has brought me is worth more than any of you can realize. I am thankful!

I will tell a story... (From today..)

I was at the men's breakfast at my church. We have them about every two or three months. What I call a large church but decent people. (Won't go into it further.) I am stand-offish some but do enjoy people and am a people person. Only because any time I have free, I spend with my wife, children, and grand-children. I enjoy people but do not take time too much away from my family except for work and a few functions that come up.

Anyway at our meeting they served breakfast and a goodun. (I estimate about 65 to 70 men total with a few younger men as well.)

I sat next to an older gentleman I assumed to be in his late 60's. I struck up a conversation with him once I saw his name tag. "Warren". I told him a friend that I had in High School that was three or four years older than me and really good to me was named Warren. We went to the same church too. His name was Warren as well. He stated: My name is Warren P. I pulled my facebook up on my phone and showed him the name of my friend..... Warren P. I was just amazed....

It turns out this guy was giving a talk in front of the group and I didn't know it. The guy to my left was too and I didn't know that. When he started talking he stated he was 80. In a short time, I made another fine friend. (I knew it already.) He has been attending this church since the mid 80's. Told me 45 years.

My church has a lot of people, we have three services and a Hispanic service. Me not meeting people was not surprising. My Darling and I have been going there since just before covid. We joined the church less than a year now.

Anyway, when I got home I had taken a few pictures. and this guy let me take a picture of his facebook page as well. This guy has a lot of followers and it seems does some serious work in a few areas.

I contacted my old friend Warren on facebook and sent him the pictures and explained the above.

I think, i do not know yet but I think they are related. I knew my friends Dad and Mom too as they were so good to me growing up. They were from North Carolina as this man was but I knew them in Michigan. His Mom and Dad were fine, fine people. This guy was nice to me when there was no reason to be. He was the cool kid and older than me.

Just blew my mind today and I have been in a mood I needed to be in for a while. With the things happening at work it has not been fun to state the least.

Anyway, I stated this because, God is in control. Even if you do not know, God knows what you need. I needed today. God Bless the D-League...

Good morning everyone.

Bad game yesterday....really dashes the hopes we had. Robinson out is also a big part of that. Goodness, we may finish in the bottom half of the SEC and still be a top 4 seed in the NCAA tourney.

Heading to church this morning....missed it the last couple of weeks. Tomorrow I'm leaving very early in the morning and going to our lake property to get some work done and returning after I finish. 3 hr drive one way. I don't do the 1 day trip (or even 2) very often, but this will be best.

I hope everyone has a great day.

LOL, I noticed the clothes too. I'm a few years younger (60) than most of you, but I got into some of that clothes action too. I'm the oldest of 8 so we had to do what we had to do. I remember having thrift store plaid jeans at one time. Embarrassing, but it helped make me into who I am today. I'm not sure if that's good or not, but...............

I'm the oldest of 7 (73), 3 boys then 4 girls, my dad was a engineer on the ICRR, then changed to CSX. Mom did what she could, part time beautician, doing laundry and part time working for our friend at their grocery store. She was a great lady!

Good morning folks. Back from church, and ready for lunch.

The Cats just had one of those games where they got completely overwhelmed and didn't respond. Just have to move on and hope they are ready the next game.

Clear and cold in the east. It was 19f when I headed out for a long run at 6:30am, but it felt colder than anything I remember this winter. Stiff wind was part of it. It felt like it was blistering my face, and my hands were numb through my gloves.

Just relaxing the rest of this lovely day.
