Good morning from ATX. Currently 66°F and clear. Today's high expected around 79°F. Wearing shorts lately.

Wishing y'all another great day.

Good morning everyone.

I made it back home from the lake last night. I saw the water, but didn't get the boat out at all. I spent all daylight hours clearing off land for a quarter acre food plot. It's been a while since I've done that much hard physical labor. I spent all daylight hours from my arrival to leaving working. Man, I was (still am) sore.

I did get to crawl into bed and listen to the game. Nice and cool (wife wasn't there so didn't have the heat on). But what an awful first half. No defense at all from what I can tell. Glad I was listening instead of watching. I don't think I could have handled it. We need Butler back 100% to save the season.

Not much on tap today. I may go to the Rec Center and walk since the weather is bad. Church Men's Group this evening.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning folks. A bad ice storm over night. My car was encased this morning -- took a lot of hacking away with a scraper to get it driveable.

I'm one of about ten percent who bothered to come into my office today. Once work for home became plausible, most people do it any time there is any kind of excuse. I still like to "go to work" so I do.

Busy day at work but not much else to report. My son is still in limbo but the chances this job he had accepted ever materializes are fading.

You all have a good day.

I know in certain jobs that working from home can reasonably be done, but it is a foreign concept to me. Every job I have ever had required me to be there, mowing or breaking gardens when younger, working in a car wash, working whatever needed to be done in a bowling alley, carrying a weapon for Uncle Sam, and operating a steam plant. Even as an owner, I waited on and loaded customers and if there were no customers, I did whatever needed to be done. Not disparaging someone who can work at home, it's just hard for me to relate.

Good morning folks. Hope all is well. Busy day already for me. Warming up in the east, so that's a pleasant change.

Talked to my son last night. Not only is he not going to get to start the new position he'd been hired for inside the Department of Interior (a small, elite team with special skills that travel to federal parks and properties to do necessary improvements and upgrades) but now his boss is telling him that they may be forced to close the federal fishery in Texas where he works.

I hope that doesn't happen. They are actually doing lots of valuable work in the rivers of the region, and helping feed people on Indian reservations and Army bases.

Have a good day folks.

Good win for the Cats. The Auburn assholes lose to Florida. Miss State beats UGA playing against 8.

The stats for the UK game makes one scratch his head. USC got 23 free throws to UK's 13. USC charged with 14 fouls to UK's 20.

THE GAME WAS PLAYED AT RUPP!

Duke goes down to Clemson! 77-71, that is worse than UK at Clemson!

Seems Sir, UK should start penalizing improper referring. Should be ways to effect that in Rupp at least. Seems money is involved so remove some dough in areas that will ensure better consideration by the "powers" that be....

From 1977 through 1984 I was in close contact with Joe B. Hall. I would help him recruit et.al. Often I would go to games and he would give me tickets to sit with other folks. Several times I watched games with C. M. Newton and other SEC guys.

At one game Joe game me a seat with the SEC Head of Officials John Guthrie. He held that office for 25 years. There was an egregious call against a Kentucky player. I yelled and John laughed. I asked if he had seen the egregious call and he said yes, but any bad call against Kentucky was a good call.

That is just the way it is in SEC basketball.

I was in HS during those years. Why didn't you recruit me? I know UK could have used a 5'9, 135# hustler. I would have been a good replacement for Chis Gettlefinger. :)

Good late morning folks.

Nice win for the Cats yesterday. No guarantees in the SEC.

Also nice: Indiana, Kansas, Duke and Arkansas all lost. UNC-Cheats won by a point or two at home against a mediocre Pitt, or the day would have been nearly perfect from a hoops perspective.

It was not a pristine performance by the Cats, which is in its own way encouraging. Injuries have really hurt this team. With Butler back, and Carr getting a bit more into playing shape, this team has got to mid-February without reaching its ceiling.

I'd love to see 5-3 the rest of the way. I think that's possible if no more injuries. When the new Top 25 is released this week, Kentucky will be 3-1 against Top FIVE teams, with a close loss to #1 Alabama and wins over FLorida, Tennessee and Duke. That's pretty impressive.

Enjoy the Super Bowl folks. Go Eagles, I suppose.

Have to say Sir then... P_SS on SEC basketball... UK needs to start cutting minimal checks and see how they act then...
