Good morning DL folks. A bright, frosty 25 degree morning.
Woke up to a call from my oldest daughter that she was in a wreck on her way to Kosair's. She's ok but haven't heard back yet on details etc. She had to hurriedly get off phone. But she did say she's ok and I said that's all that matters. She's upset about car damage etc.
We had a young man in my youngest daughter's class to die in a wreck NYE. He was 17. I told daughter in wreck last night to drive slow and be safe and about that young man. I can't imagine the pain of his family.
UK game later. Finally.
Not a lot going on today work/house wise.

Lost my only grandson at 9 years old June 30. It is horrible. Sure hope your daughter is okay. Go get her and hug and kiss her.

I barely can walk today. I have replaced knees but they can only immobilize the ankles. I don't want to be crippled yet so that proceedure is delayed as long as possible.
The Fox trot does not hurt much but the swing kills bad ankles!

-Baby really in a smiling mood these last two days. Getting more interested in grabbing for toys and really follows the turning pages when we read her stories, reaching out for them. Very awesome. She's changing so quickly that it's almost sad. 80% height, 30% weight. Tall and lean.
-BBQ pork chops last night were on point. Pizza and wings for the game tonight. Nice day of basketball on tap.

-Yard is a mess...really need to get on that but it's been so damn rainy it's been too tough to get out and make any reasonable headway. Have a good friend who refuses to use the turnaround near the house and insists on backing up, poorly, to the street on every visit, frequently going into the yard/landscaped sideyard and ripping up mud all over the place. That doesn't help matters. He's a great guy and does a lot for us so I have never said anything. Still,

Hey Triangle, that's great that your little girl is reaching out for things...growing. Great times. And really glad that you are enjoying it. It makes me so sad when a parent(s) are not enjoying their children or realizing how important it is to nurture their kids.
Triangle, my first job after HS graduation was with a company named Triangle Insulation. Early 70's. In 1971 people were stealing our scaffolding from our job sites. So the owner called me in his office and told me to go and pick out a color to paint a spot on each section of our scaffold. Red and green was already being used by a couple of companies so he said not to get those colors. On the way to the paint store me and another fellow was talking about what color to get. We were listening to the radio and they played Purple Haze. So I said lets get purple.
Now mind you, I'm 18, full of pee and vinegar. We decided to get purple and have them mix a special blend. You couldn't return a special blend. So when we got back, the owner threw a fit because of purple and he said to take it back. I innocently said it was a special blend that was not returnable. Then he said to go back and get 5 gallon and begin to mark our scaffold. Which we did. Guess what. Little bit is climbing on my shoulders as I type. Best times ever. She's begging me to go to Pizza Inn, claiming she never got to choose a place to eat as winner of the Big Dance bracket challenge which we do every year within our family. That's right, won the contest as an 8year old. She knew a lot about the teams and also went by record. Anyway, pizza inn might be in my near future. FCC.
