What's the consensus on Robinson & Butler?

Butler will return Wednesday and Jax returns for Auburn. For the ones saying they return after that then Kentucky will only win one game in that scenario and be 19-12. They can’t survive any longer without them.
Yeah I think both guys are probably ready to go this week.

We are better with them, but we are more than holding our own without them. Going 1-3 the rest of the way without them would be a poor outcome. Saying we “can’t survive” without them is fairly odd talk, considering how we played vs. Vandy and even at Bama.

Yeah but you can start to tell the guys getting asked to do more are starting to get tired and out of their comfort zone. They can win at home without them and maybe at okla, but anything other than that is really tough because there just isn’t enough.

If Oweh didn’t have his worst game of the year, it’s a 5 point game or less

Those other two games would be tough no matter who we have available.

I don’t think it’s pessimism to say/think that the guys being asked to do can’t hold on for much longer. I am very happy with what pope and the players have done so far. Just being realistic about the rest of the season we have guys being doing asked to more than what they are capable of right now. Butler and Jax are really good players who make things easier for this team

Pope needs to adjust his thinking in terms of minutes played. Amari needs to be on the court 34 minutes per. This is vital. And I believe he can be. This is a Mark Pope thing and it just isn’t working well putting BG on the court so many minutes. Starters need to get at least 5 minutes more per game.

Yeah, I'm expecting Butler to play 1 or 2 regular season games, not really expecting Robinson until the SECT.

Id expect both are trying everything to be back at latest LSU since that is senior night. Then could see sitting Mizzou out if we are in a good spot standings wise for the sec tourney.

Matt Jones said on KSR during the 1st hour:

Butler expected to be full practice this way. Target return date is Saturday vs Auburn, but might not be until the LSU game.

Robinson target return date is the LSU game, but might not be until the start of the SEC tournament.
Matt’s been wrong on the injury thing a lot

I'd be tempted to hold them both out til Mizzou. Then hopefully build momentum (and some seeding) in the SECT. Not sure what there is to gain, at this point, by getting them back early. Use Mizzou as a 'rust' game, and hit the SECT in full force to improve seeding

I think Butler back for Auburn or Missouri. But he might be told to not do certain things on the court the first few games.

Robinson, I think no sooner than SEC-T, but my best guess would be NCAA-T, but even then, this is his SHOOTING WRIST, that is like a Pitcher's elbow, or a Kickers ankle. So, he won't be very effective, basically used as a decoy and to give some rest to certain guys.

We need them both back in time to get 3-4 games to knock off the rust and get the rotation set.

If they both get back 90% or better, who gets knocked out of the rotation? My guess is Perry and one of Almonor or Noah. And Chandler will get very few minutes.

“Can’t survive any longer without them” is the definition of a pessimistic take.

“We’ll see how things go” would be neutral.

“We are going to go 3-1 or better” would be optimism.

Think whatever you want to think, but pessimism is not realism.

You’re welcome for the English lesson. Now go fill up your glass.

Well...........he has. The last time Butler went out with the shoulder, MJ predicted him back @ Alabama. Then he promptly came back like 2 weeks before that haha. So it's hard to put alot of stock in anything. I do think Pope tends to share mostly the worst parts of the injury reports, and then it seems like guys are back sooner than predicted or assumed. I'm hoping that is the case once again.

Aike man idk what crawled up you butt today but chill Jesus Christ man. Kentucky can’t survive without butler and Jax, you literally say how important they are every post, so yeah it’s not outlandish to say that. Pessimism would be saying they won’t win another game all year, which I didn’t say.

I get it. Not saying I'm going to bet my life on it. I heard it. I shared it. Time will tell.

They are surviving without them. I’m trying to be positive. But keep running your mouth.

Well, no. There are levels to it. But because a "more pessimistic" opinion exists--that doesn't mean yours isn't pessimistic.
