Now watching the SunDevils play CSU Buffaloes on the U. Should be entertaining. The Biden chants have worked for me. And I know a place folks can they can hang those silly masks.

I like how BYU is 3-0 against Pac-12 so far this season. Cougars play five Pac-12 teams this season.

Big XII commissioner no dummy.

Good Sunday Morning D

It feels good after another SEC win but we all know South Carolina is a bad team and the Cats committed too many errors to beat a solid SEC team. But how many times have our Cats won the first two SEC games and started 4-0? Florida thumped Tennessee and will be in Commonwealth next week. We have a week to corrected our mistakes and play up to our potential. We will need to do that.

Weather wise our low is 67° and the high should reach 84°. Another day of sunshine and only a 7% chance of rain. A breeze will keep things pleasant.

I trust all have a great day and my thoughts are with Cordmaker and a complete recovery.

Morning Legionnaires!

I will take ugly wins over beautiful well played loses anytime. It just wears on me. Now I just need the Bengals to beat the Steelers today and start 2-1. Yeah I know, the Bengals are picked to finish dead last in the AFC central and pretty much at the bottom of the whole AFC period. With that said, if they could some how break even this year it would be a plus considering the prediction.

Weather still in the 90's again today and for the next few days then in to the 80's. Still too hot for this time of year for me. I need my cooler weather. October just around the corner.

Well it is time to get ready to head down to Indian Rocks Beach for church services. Church starts at 10:00 AM so I best get out of here. It is about 70 miles.

After services we will meet friends at Columbia Restaurant on Sand Key. Columbia is the oldest Spanish Restaurant in the U.S. and has been in business since 1905. If you ever get down this way I would highly recommend it. Spanish cooking is not Mexican cooking. It is more Mediterranean. Sometimes I have to explain that to my visiting friends because when I say Spanish they think Mexican. Big difference

I admit, I'm jealous of you going there today. I know what I'd be ordering if I was there. Around here, I'll have to settle for a pot of black beans and rice.

D-League,
Good Sunday morning to you all. I hope you all doing well, wherever you are out there. It's a foggy, crisp start to the day here, but the sun is starting to shine through. 56 degrees headed up to a sunny, 80 degrees by this afternoon.

Our UK football cats eeeked their way to another W. It was ugly with plenty of errors, but it still counts in the W column. A couple more wins might get us into a bowl game. I also checked out much of the Vols/Gators, Arkansas/TexasAM, and a few other games. If UK doesn't clean their game up, they could be in trouble headed into this next, more difficult stretch of games coming up. Talent wise, I think we can hang in there, but it seems like other teams don't make as many silly mistakes as we do.

Anyway, after church this morning, I might catch some baseball today, clean up around the house, etc. Getting ready for another stress-filled week ahead at work. I hope today goes by very slowly.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 61°F and clear. Our high today may top out at 90°F. It appears our highs and lows hover between 70s-90s until Wednesday. Increased rain chances starting mid-week.

A win over South Carolina is always enjoyable. Wildcats lost to Gamecocks over 10 straight seasons (2000-2009) and were 1-12 until 2014. Coach Stoops is 7-2 vs USC. Cats win the games they should.

Heading out for a walk soon. Few chores on the agenda.

Wishing happiness and health for all our fellow D-League members.

Good morning! Looks like it's shaping up to be a great day for sitting on the couch and watching the Ryder Cup.

How good is the ACC? it looks like Louisville is the cream of the crop. HAHAHA! Clemson losing to NC State to go 2-2 and Fla. St. going defeated on the year has thrust UL into the limelight for something they've done RIGHT for the first time in years. I bet they got the heebie jeebies wondering when Allen Funt is going to come out from behind a tree.

Have a good one and remember to rock the boat, don't tip the boat over!

I am neutral about ND. Pretty good game until WI fell to pieces. It was good to see a 3rd string qbqck forced into the game and take it over so well like he did though.

Brian Kelly broke Knute Rockne's record for winning the most games at ND. Asked how he would be remembered he said he would be remembered as the coach who won the most games but who had not won a national championship.

He’ll be remembered as the coach who lost every significant bowl game ND played during his tenure, most in blow outs, at least based on results so far.

He won't be remembered

I hate Notre Dame

Kelly is behind Notre Dame's Knute Rockne, Ara Parseghian , and Frank Leahy who all won National Championships

They'll remember him more fondly than Dan Devine and Gerry Faust.
Notre Dame football is the most over rated team ever in any sport.

Most of their "titles" were voted on popularity. I remember, I think, in 1964 or 65 they gave it to Notre Dame when Alabama was far better and played a far tougher schedule while Notre Dame played one decent team.

Since the playoff started they still get invited when they are not close to the top 4 and yet they have not smelled a title yet.

I can't stand Notre Dame.

That sums things up for me. My father was a big fan, because of the Irish part of our heritage. I never could stand them even when I was a kid. Never said it to him over many decades

I eat those homemade regularly. I love steamed food.

I hope everyone is having the beautiful day we are in the east. It was cool enough for a jacket this morning but has settled in at about 72 with no humidity and clear, deep blue skies.

I’ve gotten away from the NFL in recent years, but may watch a little today. I’d get a little of that 1980s vibe back if the Bengals could beat the Steelers. Yeah, big “if.” But maybe TJ Watt will be out or ineffective. Otherwise, Burrow will be running for his life all day.
UPDATE - I see Watt is out.
Here’s hoping all of you who have a rooting interest see success today.

Watched the Bengals play the Steelers at Riverfront many times in the 70's and 80's. Wish I could still care.

My father and I were there for the "Freezer Bowl". It was -9° and the wind chill was -38°. I spent at least half the game in the men's room with a standing room only crowd. There were heaters and tvs in there. And no wind!

My father stood and leaned up against a rail for the entire game. He made fun of me all the way home. I was 21 and he was 49.

I’d have been in the John with you. I went to a handful of games at Riverfront in the 1970s. It seemed to always be freezing.

I can remember when I realized life as a Bengals fan was cursed. I happened to be in Miami when they played in the second of their two Super Bowls there.

I couldn’t get a ticket, but found a Bengals crowd in a bar not far from the stadium. The first blow - it’s announced that key running back Stanley Wilson isn’t playing. Only later did we learn he went out the night before the game and got so wasted on crack he couldn’t function. Then on an early set of downs - maybe the first - Tim Krumrie, the heart and soul of the defense, suffers a gruesome broken leg. Then usually reliable Lewis Billups drops an easy interception in the end zone - allowing a TD right after that. Despite all this, the Bengals manage to be ahead with a couple minutes to go and SF pinned inside their own ten yard line - just enough time for Montana to lead the 49ers down the field for a TD.

And that’s the high point of 50-plus years as a Bengals fan.

I attended the 1976 Bengals/Steelers game with my Dad and a couple of his buddies that was played in a snow storm. Visibility was poor. It was tough to follow what was going on. I didn't count but there must have been at least 100 cars in the ditches off I-71. Took us nearly 5 hours to get home. I was only 16.

Wait ... you're saying that was a Bengals game and not a common UK football game?

I was at that game with my Dad as well! We had season tickets during that time and never missed a home game.

From Mark Story:

Kentucky football trends vs SEC East foes:
UK has beaten South Carolina 7 out of 8
UK has beaten Missouri 6 out of 7
UK has beaten Vanderbilt 6 out of 7
UK has beaten Tennessee 2 out of 4
UK has lost to Florida 33 out of 34
UK has lost to Georgia 11 in a row

Kentucky football is no longer a doormat. 8-10 wins possible this season. Gators gonna be tough next Saturday.

I'll be cooking steaks this afternoon in cast iron skillets over open flames. They won't be as good as Bert's, but they'll make a ...............nice afternoon snack.

My wife likes her steaks cooked well done. I like mine cooked properly.
Tell the truth. You are an excellent cook. I am a griller.

Two years ago, Bertfan came down and told us not to cook. He brought a brisket that he had made into brisket (nearly two weeks process). He made his own mayonnaise. He bought bread. In my house, he made the best damned Rubin that you have ever eaten.

Of course, when you meet him, he is not this humble. He is a typical arrogant Kentucky Wildcat.

But I love his worthless Kentucky butt. :)

Correction: he make the brisket into "corned beef".

Well, they (the Bengals) are ahead 24-10 with 3 minutes to go and the Bengals just got the ball back at their 11 yard line.

After church today I had a nice meal with my cousin, his wife and my wife. He just returned from his 65th High School Reunion in Maryland. Forty five classmates attended the reunion.

Of course since he was in Maryland we started talking about Maryland crab cakes which are some of the best in the world. Apparently according to the discussion he had with the restaurant owner blue crabs are getting very expensive. A bushel costs about $350.00 and you have to pick them A lb of processed crab is $79.00. Crabs were so scarce they were shipping them up from Florida. The crabs he ate up there probably came only a few miles from where he lives.

We use to catch them using chicken necks and a string and could fill up a bushel in about a half hour. If you look around prices are going up by the day. I would say we are in inflation. I doubt things get any better for a long time

Yeah - Big win for Cincy. Maybe….nah. Not going there.

By the way, my local game, the Ravens-Lions had one of the most bizarre finishes ever. With 4th and forever down two with about 20 seconds to go in the shadow of their own goal line, Lamar Jackson flung it about 50 yards for a completion. Then, after a spike, Justin Tucker kicks a Sixty Six yard FG - NFL record.

The odds of the Ravens winning that game when Jackson was scrambling around with five guys chasing him on fourth down ninety yards from a score and 15 seconds to go had to be significantly less than one percent.
