Dayum..... Glad I am on that third Yuengling. Yeah, I'd like to sit with you a while and chew the fat. We'd have a GREAT time.
I like chewing fat. You're probably right. I used to chew tobacco before I went turkey to detox the nicotine.
Meat on the hoof.
Oh I agree. Lame Deer being spiritual would likely thank it's spirit for providing nourishment before eating it's liver.

Should have called me. Okolona Pest Control had some good people but, I was a better choice. ;) (I was around about that time too.)
I used Donnie over at OPC......when I worked for Schaefer Construction Co..........he was our go to guy.........one of the few that I didn't have to chase to get him to do what he was getting paid to do............If I had known you I would have called you.........you use who you know....

Good morning from ATX. Currently 74°F, cloudy, windy and humid. Today's high should top out at 90°F.

Feeling great after the dreaded shot. My second jab is scheduled for May 18.

Tonight at 7 pm EST, SEC Network will air UK spring football practice highlights. I plan on watching.

Happy Hump Day.

Wishing happiness and health for all our fellow D-League members.

I too have brocken ribs that still hurt if I make certain movements, that happened ten years ago.
When I was renovating the house I fell out back....I fell off the ladder and went through the floor joist on the deck............I could feel my ribs flexing when I walked......8yrs later arthritis reminds me that my rib cage was messed up........not all the time but.........when it's giving me the blues I remember the fall......

Aaaaarrrrhhhhmmmmm Blue Berry Pie Day.

Morning Legionnaires!

Was talking with my wife last night and ask her if she had heard from a former co-worker and retired Warrant Officer I used to know who's wife and MIL died (covid related) within 3 days of each other last Oct. Both had been in and out of the hospital for the last few years with medical issues. The MIL had been living with them for a few years now because of the medical issues. When they died he did not contact anyone for the first few days and my wife's boss ask her to ask me to contact him since I had known him a long time from the military. So, I contacted him and he was glad to hear from me and told me when the funeral was and I relayed the message. Since then he preferred to be left alone for a while to mourn.

My wife said he had not contacted them or anyone that she knew of since the funeral so, I sent him a text last night. Within minutes I got a phone call from him and he said he was just thinking of us today and was going to call and ask us out to dinner on Friday because he got this coupon from a nice restaurant for a free dinner for four so he thought of my wife, daughter, and me to go with him. Said he had not really been out much other than to counseling and grocery shopping since their death and it was time to get out a little.

Mornin' all. Nice, warm start to the day here in the Buckeye State. But rain is moving in this afternooon....we need it.

Going down to my brothers house today. My SIL is digging/giving the Mrs some plants. What kind you ask? Don't know...don't care. Decorative plants and flower gardens are in her department. I'm the yard man.
Question.....should I wear 2 ,3 or 4 masks to his house? Maybe I should check the latest from the 'president' and Doc/Quack Fauci for guidance.

Everybody have a good day.

May try that this weekend. Got a can of filling in the pantry and the cream cheese in the fridge.
So it makes two? Need two pie crusts?

Good morning! Have a 1042 tee time to go along with a flash flood watch at 1400. If all this takes place at the same pace as yesterday, I should drown sometime around 1427 or so.

Never exchange a walk on part in a war for a lead role in a cage.
Sure you will not be drowning in beer before reaching the 18th hole? I once went out with the afore mentioned friends golfing (I drove the cart with the cooler) and those guys were getting sauced drinking and golfing.

OK it is my time to rant against the United States Internal Revenue Service.

I completed and submitted my taxes in early February. E-filed. On February 12 at 4:06 PM EST, I received an email saying my tax return had been accepted by the IRS. Today is April 28 and they still have my money.

When I go to the IRS website they tell me they are behind because of COVID-19. Yet they can give money to every Tom, Dick and Harry around the world but can't process refunds on a timely basis. Our government is a tangle web of bureaucrats who appear more concerned with procedural correctness at the expense of people's needs.

An efficient organization would have the computer spit out a check or wire the money to my bank the minute the return is accepted. Not come up with a COVID excuse. I am tired of COVID excuses in our government.

Good morning D. Restless night at our place. My son, home from UK while he takes all his classes online and works a job that was waiting for him in Maryland, had a rough reaction to the Johnson-and-Johnson vaccine. My family showed the full gamut -- my wife had a moderate reaction to Pfizer second shot, I had absolutely zero reaction to first and second Moderna shots -- literally didn't feel the shots or the aftermath, and now my son had a spiking fever and bad headache to J&J.

Ah well, it'll allow him to be around both sets of elderly grandparents, so it is worth it. And he'll be able to travel to see his new nephew in a month or so.

Pretty slow otherwise. Hope all of you are well.

LOL. Behind? I owed them nearly $9,000. I waited to e-file on April 15 and they pulled the money out of my account the very next day. So they are efficient enough when it benefits them. My extra tax has probably already paid to process 10,000 illegals into the country in Texas and California.

Yes, but the original recipe calls for Pecan sandies for the crust, just crunch up the cookies add some melted butter, then press into a baking dish. I just made it easier by using two Graham cracker crusts.

Shawnee.......our federal refund was posted in our savings account 11 days after our accountant filed.....the state was in there 2 days later........kind of like my buddy has never gotten a relief check yet.....not the first one........more red tape than you can imagine......what has it been over a year since they sent the first ones out...........he told me the other day that even though it would be nice to get the thousands of dollars.......they have promised his family of 6............he is about ready to quit chasing.........really sad......I bet there are not many illegals who haven't gotten their checks.......

Heard on the radio yesterday (Brian Kilmeade show I think) that Cuomo in N.Y. has signed a bill not only raising taxes but also to give something like 14K to illegal aliens. And that when he agreed to all of what the Dem. legislature wanted...all the sex and nursing home investigations went silent.
Now, I was mowing and not paying 100% attention so I could be a little off on the info.

Yeah they get "THEIR" dough. Mine was pulled out of my accounts the same day I e-filed and they were accepted. The states too. They be quick in that area.

Concerning SC it may be a Floridan payback type of thing going on. Don't doubt that happening at all.

Oh, May all of you with needs have them met in God's time. We all have our crosses to bear in some form or another. God will provide your needs. Give thanks and be thankful in all circumstances. God Bless you all...

Very sad to state but they probably got his using his SSN. They do that you know...

That is what burns me up. My daughter owed a few dollars and filed early this month. They already have her money.

Most of my life I have paid quarterly so the IRS has my money early. I will never do that again. From this day until they lay me down for my eternal rest I will never pay any advance to the IRS. Not after being jerked around like this.

COVID-19 is being used for every excuse imaginable and now they are using it against me to process my refund. The refund is only about $2,900 which is chump change. What the heck, IRS?

SC Sir,
I really do not doubt that many Floridians are in your boat. Far be it from the IRS to be political.. Nah, they wouldn't do that... No way... 🐍

I was supposed to get $2,000 back in 2019 year because of the lowered taxes under Trump's law. They still have not paid me, yet they continue to cash my quarterly checks that I have to send them.

I had to pay this year and they cashed that check also.

Just reviewed our bank account and all our taxes were taken out within a day of being e-filed.
For our Florida, Texas and Tenn. friends...here in Ohio we of course have a state tax. We also have city taxes. We have of course a property tax....which in most places where I've lived takes care of the school system....BUT.....we also have a school tax (not all school districts in Ohio have a separate school tax but many do (the list is long).
Being retired you would think you would catch a break. But no. Still paying. And actually...the totals of the state/local/school taxes paid is about 3 or 4 times the federal.

And our 'president' wants $80B more for the IRS to collect unpaid taxes.

Around here we would say....."Don't Michigan my Tennessee....."

I wish I could be angry about that statement as I am a Michigander along with my Brother and Sister who still live in Michigan BUT I tend to agree with you minus the stated persons and some other relatives who live there.... That Wench is nuts and also those who voted her in and are NOT removing her...

Kentucky has lower net taxes than Tennessee, Florida or Texas.

Kentucky has a state income tax but it is low and the property taxes are a fraction of those in Tennessee, Florida or Texas.

My property tax in Jacksonville, FL was $4,200 in 1999. I moved to Kentucky in 2000 and my property tax on an equivalent house was $1,200.

Tennessee's sales tax is 9% and you pay it on most things, Kentucky's is 6% and food and drugs are exempted. My son lived in Franklin, KY which is 2 miles from the Tennessee line. The WalMart was always filled with Tennessee cars because there is no sales tax on food in Kentucky so you got a 9% discount directly.

When I lived in Henderson, KY and worked in Evansville, IN; I bought my whiskey in Indiana and my beer in Kentucky because of the differences in the taxes of the two states.

My WalMart has whole milk for $0.99 a gallon; eggs $0.99 for 18. This summer both will get even cheaper.

I am bragging.

I doubt that part Sir. Biden will ensure nothing gets cheaper (he will add an "expense"(Tax) except our portfolio's...they will get cheaper for sure.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Just a general statement not directed at any of the fine individuals from Michigan. You know, your comment about not removing the governor reminded me of what I saw yesterday about California's gov.; that they had enough petition signatures to file a motion for his removal. I wonder if something similar would take hold in Michigan.
