D-League

Hey Austin I just ordered some meat rubs from Hardcore Carnivore out of Austin. Great products and the owner's easy on the eyes too.

Nice. You ain't lying.

I've honestly never heard of this business until now. Hoping for a great outcome. Good luck.

Here ya go @starchief5 . Blast from the past.

cudjoesstore.jpg

I always enjoyed stopping in there when I was a kid. I was never in Cudjos Cave until I was an adult and had left Middlesboro. We never had a car until I was 16 years old. Even then I was not allowed to drive it anywhere by myself. My parents never learned to drive. The only time we ever got out of town was when my brother visited from "up North." I rarely ever got so far out as 25E. From Noetown to downtown was about as far as I ever got.

63.9°F and sunny here; we are to top out at 86° with only a 10% chance of rain.

I see my doctor this afternoon for my 6 months check up. I will probably get a lecture for my liver tests being up. I have been a bad boy during the Covid-19 mess.

RairroadKat good to see you are going to be in the land of the seeing soon. I had my cataracts worked on in 2009, I think. Wonderful to see. Pardon the pun, but I never looked back!
Hope You had a good check up Bert!

Good morning from ATX. Currently 79°F and partly cloudy in north Austin. Expecting 101°F for our high. 20% chance of afternoon showers. Brutal heat may have ended for now.

39 days until SEC football!

Yesterday morning, as I walked along around 6 am, a gal in her 50s stopped me. "Can you open this beer for me?", she asked. I replied, "kinda early for beer", as I grabbed her bottle and opened it. She said she'd had a rough night. Ah, early mornings in north Austin.

At our briefing last week, management indicated we'll work from home until at least mid-December.

Wishing all our fellow D-League members continued happiness and good health.

Good Tuesday Morning

It is primary election day down here but I voted early. I am glad I did because I woke up to pouring rain. Currently 75° and we will hit 85° for our high. The rain is slacking off but this afternoon we will have a 50% chance of a little more. One nice thing about wakinig up to rain is when the sun starts coming out the colors are magnified, bright and bold with brilliant skies.

Well it was nice to see the SEC give out our football schedule. We open with Auburn at Auburn and that will be a good test for our team. I feel good about the season and can't wait until kickoff. I just pray the teams play football and leave this social justice protesting in the locker room. I know a lot of people who are at the edge of giving up on sports if they don't get back to the game.

I am thankful our fellow D-League members who had physicals passed with flying colors. We are all pretty much healed up now. I am able to walk without any help and plan on being in church Sunday morning to thank the Lord for His blessings. Have a great day

72.3°F here and bright sunshine on its way to a predicted high of 85. I predict it will be higher than that.

Yesterday was busy for me. Today will not be. This is Sherry and Bert's 54 wedding anniversary. We usually go out to a nice dinner but today it will be at home.

You all have a good day and also pray for the Bass out in Oklahoma. I have sent out a notice to a lot of ponds warning them not to be tempted to eat today as Warrior Cat is out! :)

Happy 54th, Bert and Sherry. Wishing y'all many more.

I did. The liver enzymes were up slightly but not what I had expected. My doctor is one of the best. Total cholesterol was 123, blood pressure 120/70, A1C below 5. Joints: bone on bone.

:)
Congrats on cholesterol and BP. Sorry about bone on bone. Ouch!

At 50 years she has given up (old and grey), but she is still loved.

Fishing report: Warrior-Cat 1-----LargeMouth Bass 3. One got off and two snapped my line. They were good fighters and felt big but, that line should have held. 30lb test braided but, I did buy the cheaper brand at the suggestion of my wife because it had twice as much line. Won't do that again.

School starts today for my daughter (Freshman in High school). Mask to be worn all day. Social distancing as well. Don't see how because the last few years have been full class rooms and kids sitting in others laps on busses. Don't think they bought more busses. This community has the highest rating for schools in this area so, people have been moving here from Lawton for their children every year. Lawton schools have many problems. Stay tuned.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 78°F, clear and dry. Today's high should reach 102°F. 38 triple-digit days for us so far this summer. We've got another couple more weeks of this misery left.

I've been averaging 1.5 - 2 hours walking per day. Feels really good.

Made a pot of white beans and sour cream cornbread today! Really good!!!!
Sounds delicious. Guten appetit.

Wishing all our fellow D-League members continued happiness and good health.

Good Wednesday Morning

72° with the sun rising in the East. Our "troubled" weather pattern continues today with a 50% chance of rain and some can be heavy. Typical August weather. We should reach a high of 88.

I trust Sherry and Bert had a pleasant 54th wedding anniversary. A couple that stays together in today's culture warms my heart.

I hope Warrior-Cat beats the Oklahoma bass today and Austin finds all of the loose change in Texas. I smell sausage cooking in the kitchen and I need another cup of coffeee

Have a geat day D

Going fishing again tomorrow. Will beat them tomorrow.

Daughter's bus had three when she got on. Usually close to full in recent years. Must be homeschooling or parents driving them to school. will find out when she gets home.

I work at a high school and can tell you the format we are using right now. Under normal conditions, we have around 800 students total. Out of that rounded number of 800, we had students/parents select from three options:

1. Attend school in person
2. Attend school (i.e. be counted on the school roster) but do all assignments from home/correspondance with teacher via computer/email/zoom
3. Withdraw from the school roll and enter a full virtual diploma program, sponsored by the county/state.

We had about 440 of the 800 choose to attend in person school, while all others are at home/computer/zoom. Of those 440, they are divided in half with 220 in "group A" and the other 220 in Group B. The A group attends in person on Mondays/Thursdays while B attends on Tuesday/Friday; Wednesday is all kids at home, staff/faculty at school doing virtual, online lessons as the custodian staff cleans the building.

It's like a ghost town around here in a normally bustling high school setting. We are having high school football games, but capping the ticket sales/attendance at 30% capacity.

The high school here was supposed to open Monday. The teachers didn't show up. Supposed to try again Thursday.

Man I'm glad I clicked over to AXSTV...the BOYS STILL HAVE IT! Get'em Mick!

I need to ask though...how much of the guitar music is piped in? Just watching, the musical sound doesn't look like it fits the guitar strumming. Anyway, I'm amazed the Boys are still on stage.

I've worked 40 hours in the last 3 days. That's a lot for an old guy, so my walking is very sporadic. Before Maddie (my boxer) died, I'd walk her a minimum of an hour a day. It was good for me and she loved it. A tired boxer is a good boxer. Anyhow, hope you are enjoying your walks.

The NCAA just granted a transfer waiver to an incoming LSU big man, who just happened to announce his intent to transfer 2 months after Sarr. He has no hardship and isn't moving closer to home either.

I guess we need to hire an AD who is related to Emmert. Finally back online. Charger went out on my computer and could not recharge my battery. Had to have Dell ship me one. Happy Anniversary to Bert and Sherry. Hope you have a bunch more.
