Plenty of stripers in the lakes in my surrounding area. Caught about 15 one day (Nothing that big) and gave them to a boy and his father who were having no luck. Gave the boy one of the lures I was using and he caught one within minutes of me giving it to him. His father had a big approving smile and thank you to me because, it was the first time he had taken his boy fishing.No, that's just to illustrate the Lees Ferry fishery. Were you fishing the Colorado? Best trout fishing in the southwest. I fished the Colorado from Glen Canyon Dam to Lake Meade. My 1st cast in Marble Canyon returned a 20" rainbow weighing just over 3 lbs. Five pounders there are common. Now the Colorado River Lakes have huge Striped Bass if you want big.

Many streams in Arizona have Small-mouth Bass and are quite a challenge on light tackle. In the lakes, heavier equipment would be in order as pound for pound, they are probably the hardest fighters in the state. A five pounder puts up a spectacular fight.
With all of these warm temperatures and a high approaching 90 today I decided to go down to Weeki Wachee and enjoy year round 72 degree water temperature at the springs. Never know who you will run into while there.

These are some of the ones I gave them. The boys father took the picture with my phone. I have one Saugeye in that bunch. The lake we were at is just down the road from me. I just hook a left out of my drive way, drive about half of a mile and I could literally drive into the lake.
Picture size was too big, more fish at the end of stringer.

Woke up this morning with a very bright moon that was extra nice reflecting off of the lake. We have claar skies and our temperature is 71°F. and may reach a high of 85°F. We have a 10% chance of rain at 4:00 pm .
I may take a day trip down to Honeymoon Island and just enjoy the Gulf waters. Not much else happening.
Our moon looked a little like this. The sun will come up at 7:14 am

Good morning D League. Beautiful weather in the east -- clear and cool, the kind of day that is more like October, which is one of the two months of really good weather in Washington -- the last half of April usually and much of October. The rest is too hot and humid or too cold.
Want to feel old? I was talking to my daughter today about my 5-year-old granddaughter and we were talking about how different her perspective is going to be on the world -- how even something as indelible as 9/11 will seem like ancient history to her. And it occurred to me that she is as far removed from 9/11 (14 years) as I was from Pearl Harbor (14 years.) At least that made me feel old.
