D-League

We are better than both those teams, but after last night, that really doesn't mean anything. That's sad to feel that way.
When we do our preseason predicting there is one team I never put down as a win. Tennessee. History is against us. They have beaten our best ever teams in the past such as a win over Bear Bryant's Orange Bowl team that won 10 games and of course last year. At least Bryant got beat by a good Tennessee team. Last year's UT team was sorry. The great 1977 team had a hard time with Tennessee. They won but the game was much closer than it should have been. So if I feel as bad after this years UT game as I do this morning it will not be the first time.

I hope we go on a long winning streak but looking at our secondary tells me that will be a hard thing to do. Plus we have a questionable field goal kicker and a coach that does not like to score a lot of points. .

Good morning all, Well, that game last night was a kick in the nuts. And that game was the perfect example as to why I, along with lots of other people, are losing interest in college Football.

How in the hell do you penalize a defensive tackle for targeting? This is a guy who has people hanging on him, he stumbling over people, getting held and pushed, but SOMEHOW he has the ability to " target " someone? ABSURD! I know why the rule was put in, but to flag a D-tackle with targeting goes against the spirit of the rule.

I don't blame the Refs, they are enforcing the rule as the NCAA tells them to. It's just a terribly shitty rule. The NCAA has ruined college Football and Basketball with their ridiculous rules. I'm to the point where I don't really care if I watch the next game or not. The NFL ruined Pro Football, and I haven't watched a pro game in years because of the ridiculous rules. Son number 1 works for the NFL. He is on a field somewhere every Sunday, and he told me attendance isn't what it used to be.

Sorry for the rant, I will now get off my soapbox. Hope you all have a relaxing, restful Sunday

You weren't on a soapbox. You were in the pulpit with the rest of us.

You know we're screwed when in the EMU game a 5 yard penalty for a procedural violation that had no impact on the play, offsets a 15 yard, OMG TARGETING penalty. Where is the sense in that?

This is pretty much how I feel.

Now that I have had the requisite amount of coffee to approach functionality, a few thoughts on the game.

1. Line play was stout.
2. Smith will be fine. Mistakes of errant throws and questionable decisions are coachable corrections.
3. Gators receivers were confirmed as their best players. And any team the Cats play with a serviceable QB and good receivers will be a real threat.

I'm spent this morning. Couldn't sleep. My mind kept replaying the low points of the game last night. The 4th down, targeting calls, missed FG, 19-0 4th quarter, back-up Gator QB looking like a Heisman candidate, etc. I could go on but it's just too exhausting.

Today's fishing report: Warriorcat-- 5 LMB---3. Hooked 8 landed 5. Kept 2 for fillets (Between 2 and 3 Lbs each) turned 3 loose. But, 2 of the 3 that got away would have probably been the biggest I have caught in the last few years. Whopper Plopper's were bringing them in today and those two broke my lines (14 lb test) and took my lures. I got one near the bank and it got caught in the grass and weeds. Other one just fought until the line broke. Was sick to my stomach because I saw both of them and they were big.

Rattler pond. Going again next week and wearing my waders to get through the grass just in case.
