Tommy, no beer or alcohol on that diet?

A reasonable amount of beer is OK. It's all about the carbs. I drank toooo much last night. That will happen from time to time when I'm turned out at the golf course for a night time event and I know ahead of time that I have a sober ride home. Tooooo much Jim Bean Apple as well.

Good morning everyone from Catoosa County Georgia. Just finished with the high school cross country races as we approach 87° already this morning

I need to mow my yard today, but with the heat and good football on, I may just use that as an excuse to put it off. Besides, my grass is pretty much scorched out anyway with a long streak of over 90° , dry days continuing. I’m not complaining though, as this time last year we were flooding around here.

Hope everyone has a nice, relaxing weekend and here’s to hoping that our football cats continue to get better each week.

I like your lawn mower.
Wife found ours walking crossing 24th Street between McDowell & Thomas Rds. in Phoenix. We had to change the fruit feeding to a rough concrete slab to hone back the lower jaw and sharpen it's beak. It's taken about 4 years and the beak is healing fine and in another year or two it should be good as new. We've had ours for over 25 years, making him about 50 years old.

They are protected here if Florida but years ago they were very plentiful and some of the best eating meat of any species. . Down here we call them "cooters". My mother had a great recipe for Cooter Pie. This recipe is over 100 years old and I love the way they walk you through the process i.e ..." first you take a live cooter and wait for him to stick his head out and when he does you grab him and wack it off." LOL I guess some people tried to cook them like blue crabs or lobster. This is very, very, very good eating and few people have experienced it in this day and age. But years ago it was on high demand and now they are protect. But please, we do not want anyone eating their pet cooter.

I see them often as they live behind me in the swamp (wildlife preserve to the developers) . They get pretty big and I like them more than gator meat. .

Wow, that is interesting and something I never knew existed. I'd probably try it, but may just stick with your Spanish Bean soup recipe instead.

Thanks for passing that on. Hope he gets better soon. Pneumonia is terrible.
Horrible. My daughter caught Pneumonia during a visit to FL one summer. Carried her to the old Orlando Naval Training Center hospital. Navy doctors kept her and would not release. I had to make a mad dash back up to Kentucky and back to Orlando within 36 hours, and drive my ex down to Orlando to help care my daughter because my ass was scheduled to return back to Germany. What a stressful, freaking mess.

That does sound stressful. I've had it 3 times and the first one almost killed me.

Austin, is your cable/ satellite provider carrying the game? If not, I just checked the ESPN app, and the Kentucky game is indeed on there.
Yes, thanks. We think so. We shall find out in a few.

Time to get ready so I can holler at the TV and scare the hell out of our dog. I'm sure I gave our other dog, Sadie (RIP), PTSD during past football and basketball seasons.

Just finished cutting the grass and weed eating. Normally takes right at 2 hours. I started at 3:15 giving myself plenty of time. 3/4 of the way through, the right front wheel comes off of the riding lawnmower. E clamp broke holding wheel onto axle. Have 2 extra because it happened before. Went looking for them when neighbor came over and offered assistance. He lifted front right side while I put wheel back on and then re-clamped with new E clamp. He's a pretty big and strong guy so, we did not need the jack. Helped get me back on track for the game.

It’s a good thing you started early.

Had to put a front wheel on my lawnmower a couple of months ago. I put a 2x4 under the front of it and lifted it up. Then I knelt down and let the board rest on my thigh while I removed the old wheel and installed the new one.
