D-League

Going to go to the hardware store this morning need to pick up some material to finish my Bluebird house. I need to paint it a drab color, but it will still have a big K on it !!
The #1 limiting factor to blue birds are cavities for nesting cover. They forage insects of intersperced woodland gardens. Boxes do well high on shaded walls.

I am officially making the first charcoal of the year. Now I'm going to have to cut more wood for the next batch. I'm using red maple and it's very hard. I've got some oak to use but not enough yet for a full load and I don't want to mix it. No real reason.

It takes a lot of time, effort, and sweat to make a batch of charcoal that I can buy for $20. It's fun though and really the same as baking a cake. Put the proper ingredients in the proper proportions in a suitable container, apply heat and time. VIOLA! Charcoal! or a cake.

edit: here is the write up that I copied with my setup.

Well the smoke finally stopped. I'll check it tomorrow to see what I have or have not done. Can't open it up until it cools down or the charcoal will catch on fire when the oxygen hits it.

When I built the table it was flat across the top and I had to cut two holes for the eggs to fit into. I just sanded and glued one of those circles back together to make a table top. About 24" in diameter. Large enough to hold a couple of beers and some snacks. I have a 4x4 to use for the support and I'll make the legs out of 2x6. A cocktail table of sorts.

Howzit going D-League!!

It's a cloudy, foggy, wet, 54 degrees here in Hamilton Co, TN, headed for 76 and mostly cloudy later on. The rains overnight have left things wet, but at least the pollen is washed away for a day or two.

-Like Sawnee Cat said, I also won't be watching the final 4; I'm even having trouble remembering who is playing. For sports, I've moved on to baseball and the Braves.

-This weekend, I'm going to clean and brighten up my lanai with some nice plants. Can I call it a lanai here in TN?

-Speaking of plants, I'm also going to refresh the dirt for my tomato, bell pepper, and herbs (cilantro, lemon balm, peppermint, and basil).

You all have a nice day, keep the stress levels low, and enjoy it.

A lanai in TN is called a screened in porch. Floridians are uppity.

It is now clear that even God supports the ACC. What an ending.

Nope. The NCAA and refs. The kid from UVA double dribbled when it went off his foot, then picked it up, with both hands, and put it on the floor. The infraction was before the Auburn player fouled him. It should have been Auburn's ball with a couple of seconds. The last play would never have happened.

cracker barrel breakfast this morning, then off to Lowes..Dropped 6 hundo on landscaping stuff to be delivered next week. Grass mowed, weed eating done, water fountain moved. Tomorrow hope to beat the rain and plant some in the garden..Chili dogs was supper....
Auburn lived by the non call then dies by the non call, they don't care, their trophy was won last week.....life is good!

Wow, what a finish in the UVA-Auburn game. I actually pulled for the Tigers. They may have got robbed.

They weren't robbed. They served a specific purpose and were no longer needed.

Missed double dribble with 5 seconds to play. Auburn now knows how UK feels in these tight games. I mean the ref was right there. How could he miss that call.

I didn't watch the game, but he didn't miss it. He just didn't call it.

Everyone thought wrestling was real at one time.

Happy for ya bud, I remember you saying you and your wife were pulling for them. I am too now. They are racists though for firing Tubby. Minnesota and Memphis too.
[laughing]

Coach Smith put together some really good teams 2003-2005. I attended the Elite Eight game here in Austin back in 2005. His time expired.

Since Coach Cal arrived, life has been wonderful. We're in the hunt nearly every season.

Morning. I thought it was a no call on Auburn. What about defensive verticallity?I thought the same on the Tennessee player too as y'all might remember I said. The double dribble. Quite honestly, I was was watching and I missed that one. I was looking at the Auburn player and wondering why in the heck he didn't jump straddle that ball. Pearl mentioned God in his post game. Speaking of which, see y'all in a couple of hours. FCC.

So, I see where Bryce Brown of Auburn was unhappy with the refs. What did he say about them not calling a foul on Auburn for the last 9:18 of our game? Bet he thought they did a fine job that night.

Stayed up until 0200 this morning watching a show on tv and woke up at 0900. That's a good schedule for me.

Bacon cheeseburger casserole was pretty good last night but not much different than just making bcb's and eating without a bun. Probably a one hit wonder.

Looking forward to the big reveal on the charcoal later. I'm apprehensive about the results because there was entirely too much smoke for the duration of the burn. I don't think that's a good omen.

Have a great Sunday and do what you do.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 65°F. We've received lots and lots of beautiful rain over the past 18 hours. Power went out a few times. Should let up soon.

I really enjoyed basketball yesterday. Happy for TTU. Hope they beat UVa come Monday. Plan on watching NCAA women's championship late this afternoon.

My usual chores are on today's agenda. We'll check back later. As always, y'all take care and behave.
