Let's be real, Pope is your 1a. He was not mentioned by the voters. Pope did a great job but middle of the SEC will not get any coach consideration by the people who do the voting. We all appreciate what coach Pope did for us but compared to the top vote getters he was not close. Residual has a lot to do with these voters. They look at what Bruce Pearl has done and what he just did this year and compare that to Pope's only year at a big time school, he was not given a chance to compete.
