I guess I'll be leaving soon for Cincy. When I agreed to go to this wedding I knew there could be a possible conflict. I thought for some reason though that we would be in the Friday Sunday games and everything would work out. Then I thought that we would play tonight around 7 or 8. The closer it gets to the game the more I'm disliking this wedding.

Odds are, when we get there I'm going to a bar to watch the game and she'll pick me up there afterward. Need to find an accomplice.

I still remember seeing Pitino in an interview saying that Louisville couldn't support an NBA team. We already proved we would support a pro team. The Pelicans should be in Louisville right now, but with a much better name.
Several old ABA teams transitioned into the NBA and were successful. They still have their team decades later. Louisville would have been one of them.. Plus it would have been good for the economy which means growth to a city. About that time I would guess Nashville was about the same size or smaller than Louisville. Look at the difference in growth and wealth of the two cites. Now Nashville is major league. Louisville not so much.

It was a terrible decision not to take that risk and go major league pro

The deal was, John Y could buy the Celtics if he would fold the Colonels, and let the other ABA teams that were selected, go into the NBA.
