I love greek food. In Maryland we went to a place named Yayas every friday night. Great food and fun. Plus the wine and beer was cheap.
Bert about 60 miles North of me is a little village town called Tarpon Springs. It has the largest Greek population in America and most migrated over in the sponge diving trade. It is a fabulous history. Their cooking is superb. A lot of us like Cincinnati style chili with it's cinnamon flavor. That has Greek roots.

If you ever make to Tarpon here are a few restaurants to consider.

Cinnamon flavor?

Up at the crack of 9 this morning. Should be a productive day. I've got to take some hearing aid batteries down to Dad and visit for awhile. Then it's basketball action as our Cats take care of bidness in K-ville and secure their 1 seed in the big dance. All that's left after that is to eat, drink, and be merry. I'm pretty good at those three.

Yeah it's dreary outside, but it's Winter. There are no leaves on the trees. Reminds me of a poem I read in school, "I think that I shall never see, something as ugly as a naked tree..." that dude got it. It makes it just that much better when Spring has sprung and everything is beautiful again. It won't be long now.

I've been there a few times. A really nice place to visit.

Bring on the Vols! I really hope Nick and EJ can bring on a physical presence today because that's my biggest concern without Travis.

Snow tomorrow with bitter cold next week. It's about time they fire that damn groundhog and replace him with a different rodent. Maybe a prairie dog.

Thanks bud! He's doing fine and considers himself on vacation.

I know some of you have seen this before, but for those of you who haven't, here is the first Andy Griffith show. Of course it wasn't called that since it was a Danny Thomas skit, but you can see a few characters and concepts that made it to the show.

I saw this in real time. And thanks for posting it.

Ah, yes I had a crush on Marjorie Lord. I wouldn't miss a single one of Make Room For Daddy or as it became known The Danny Thomas Show. His first wife in the series Jean Hagen was nice too but there was something to me about Marjorie Lord. The word was Danny Thomas and Jean Hagen clashed in personality and she quit the show. The show explained her absence by saying she died, I think car wreck because I remember he hobbled around on the show with a broken leg from a car accident for a few episodes.. So that left him a widower with kids to raise. Enter Marjorie Lord .

This was TV's Golden Age.

Hey hey! Feeling good about the game tomorrow.

Dad's in the hospital since Wednesday. He had a lot of fluid in his lungs that was causing him to cough too much. He can't really cough hard enough to get it all up. They're going to keep him there for awhile until it clears up. He's been in good spirits and is enjoying his time away from the nursing home.
Get well soon and good luck.

Good afternoon from Orlando. Currently 85°F, clear and very warm.

Plan on watching the game in a few. Go Cats!

Mom's viewing is 6-8 pm tonight. Graveside funeral service happens at 2 pm tomorrow. I'm here in the Orlando area for the next eight days. Looking at staying with a cousin who lives 5 miles from here beginning Monday, as there is no room at either brother's places.

At any rate, we'll check back later. Y'all behave.

Thanks for checking in Austin. Thankful your trip was pleasant. You know each and everyone of your D-League brothers and sisters have you in our thoughts and prayers. May God be with you and your family these next few days. Peace and comfort.

Home again, Dad is doing fine and he didn't cough at all while I was there. Got to feed him lunch. He said he spilled half his breakfast and that pissed me off. I told them two days ago that he couldn't hardly feed himself because he can't hold onto the utensils very well. I'm pretty sure someone will help him eat dinner. [winking]

I found some protein drinks there in the gift shop that have 30 grams of protein and only 3 grams of net carbs. Perfect for him. I took him two more today and he wants me to get him five when I go back tomorrow. Glad he likes them because the doctor at the nursing home wants him to increase his protein intake. I keep him supplied with beef jerky but I don't think that's enough.

I'm pretty sure he'll be out before Tuesday but instead of our regular adventure he's got two appointments at VA that day. I haven't told him yet.
