BEAT TENNESSEE.
We must move on and beat the living daylights out of UT.

We were whistling past the graveyard and, deep down, we all knew it.

UK has dug itself out of a deep deep hole and has achieved some degree of respectability. When we can successfully recruit the best Ky high schoolers (we can't yet) and get the best of the big boy leftovers out of Ohio etc, we can step higher. We can't afford to collapse back to usual next season.

Heard on the Jones show Friday that next years Kentucky class is loaded as well and that we're in good with a lot of those guys. If we can show a payoff with instate kids maybe it will catch on.

My first d-league post.

I agree with this. We all probably knew we were not quite as good as advertised, yet i felt a hope that we might just do it. The cats have had some luck this season for a change and are a really good team but not yet elite sec.

also, the grey uniforms were just wrong for a sece championship game.
go big grey!

Welcome! I don't know why they try out hype colors. I'm fine with our regular colors and don't need anything extra to make it "special".

Welcome Sligo! I think you'll like it here.

I got the grass cut before the rain. Might be the last time for the season other than mulching the leaves. Speaking of which, we keep our yard clean of dog poop but there's always a surprise waiting out there in all those leaves. It wouldn't be Fall without a few smelly shoes/work gloves.

Now that Halloween is over it's time to sit back and enjoy the many Thanksgiving movies. Oh wait, there aren't that many. Surprisingly so. Why not? All I can think of is Planes, Trains and Automobiles (excellent), Dutch and Home For The Holidays. Trading Places is borderline Thanksgiving. Seems like Thanksgiving would be a great plot for movies.

For Your Consideration

Evening, the D. Fixed chili and baked potatoes for my grands. Two of them are home, but the real fun starts in 15 minutes when I have to get Hurricane Anna to bed. Her mom (Packers fan) is watching the game with her Nana (Patriots fan). So I have Anna duty.

Keep me in your prayers...

Good morning D-League

Current temperature is 71 with a high in low 80's this afternoon.

It hit me this morning. There is a basketball game this week. Tuesday night to be exact. With all of my focus on football I had pretty much put basketball on the back burner. It would be nice to win this one against Duke. Always nice to beat Duke.

But the big game for me this week is the football game at Tennessee. BEAT TENNESSEE

Have a great day and all who are under the weather prayers are with you. Get well soon

  • Good Morning, D-Leagueanites, Wildcats and Lurkers.
  • 45º in Johns Creek. Not bad. Overcast. Tiny bit of rain last night.
  • Slept a lot yesterday.
  • Coffee tastes great this morning.
  • A couple of old friends visited yesterday morning on their way back to Lexington. They lived across the street from us for a few years. Had their 85 pound Golden Retriever with them. Lola had never seen a dog that big.
  • #1 and his GF brought their 8 week old Golden Doodle over for the first time. Very cute. Solid White. Lola thought that that is more like it.
  • Welcome mat out for SligoCat 92! Have a big time here.
  • Duke Tuesday night at 9:30 EST. Yes, 9:30. Yikes!!!
  • Tennessee Saturday at 3:30 EST.
  • Carry on.

Evening Leagueanites, let's roll up our sleeves and beat Duke then, turn our sites on Tennessee. Of course after voting if you have not already. Using the two hours authorized to take off early Tuesday to vote and then settle in for a tough game.

Big national day tomorrow. UK-Duke basketball game.

Oh, I almost forgot. A national election.

Anna was a perfect angel at bedtime. She usually fights bedtime tooth and nail, but she went down for the count easily tonight. Sound asleep in under 5 minutes. She had a busy day today tho...even 5 yr olds need to recharge their batteries!

Ghost, your new family has really mellowed you out. You out-grandpa all of us.

Leagueanites. I like that term Warrior.

Ghost Vol please don’t hold anything that I may say in the next week about your Vols against me. It is just the result of nasty things that Orange has done to my Blue.

56.7°F here at 9 am. We are supposed to get some nasty weather tonight.

Tomorrow is polling day. Since I turned 18, I have never missed an election day. I even won my little runs 4 times. I still get invited to thank you dinners et.al. and Saturday was one of those times. I had not seen our Sheriff for nearly two years as I am getting too old to participate in Lions Club & other civic organization. We spent two hours talking about how rough politics have become. His name is Peanut Gaines and he has been the sheriff of Warren County Kentucky since the late 1970's. He said if he could come back as a young man he would avoid politics. I found that shocking. But then if I had it to do over again I would never run for office. Too divisive. I went into office with no enemies, now I have several.

All you folks make sure you vote.
