D-League

Good morning from ATX. Currently 75°F, cloudy with sprinkles. Looking at low-80s later today. Rain hopefully lets up so I can work my part-time gig.

Otherwise, life is good. Plan on watching Longhorn football later today. May check out some Nebraska football.

Y'all behave.

Your romance with rain fading? Your descriptions of that "beautiful" rain a few weeks ago made me blush.

Today marks the beginning of Fall garage sale season out this way. Too hot for them in the summer. My wife loves them. She buys all her clothes at garage sales and is proud of it. Can come home with a bushel of high quality clothing (she calls them mall brands) for ten bucks or so. I win.
Saving money is making money.

I bought a 9 1/2 pound brisket that's ready to go tomorrow. I'll try to get it on by 3 or 4 in the AM. Should be good timing for dinner.

Do you wrap em? I'm going to get some pink butcher paper for my next brisket.

Big Lebowski!

I knew you'd know.

Evening
Worn out. Busy week
Watching BBM and drinking coffee
Y’all be good

Post more often, Bev.

The fans just booed the mention of that Skunk-Weasel.

I think that's why he mentioned him. To hear the boos.

Yep. It is good to be at the top of the food chain. One can choose a Dago salad or still-quivering red meat. Or both.

Yep, it's good to be at the top.

Congratulations! I knew you had that sewn up.
After being next to last being interviewed, as I walked out of the office I was ask by the bosses "Why aren't you sweating like the others were?" I jokingly replied "I don't sweat the small stuff'" My boss just rolled her eyes and shook her head and said "You could have left that question out."

I do use the "Texas crutch" quite a bit with brisket but I also like the bark of an unwrapped brisket. Now I will wrap after it's finished and let it rest in a cooler for a few hours.

Like a boss!

Evidently the pink butcher paper maintains a good bark. Aaron Franklin uses it. I don't see how the bark can be as good wrapping it as leaving it nekkid, but I'm going to try it. I didn't like using foil. I'll try the paper on ribs too.

  • Good Morning, D-Leagueanites, Wildcats and Lurkers.
  • 63º in Johns Creek. Warm worn jacket not necessary. This Wildcats sweatshirt will do.
  • 1 JR's biscuit, gravy and 2 OM perfect eggs prepared by the QB. Just delicious. 2nd mug of Dark Magic going. Good.
  • Lola's here. Love Bug.
  • Missed MM. Commuting. Did I miss anything?
  • Be safe and happy today.
  • Hope you ailers get better.
  • As you were. Carry on.

Afternoon D gents, lady & lurkers...
Tears of joy today for daughter #1...she passed her CDR test to "Officially" become a Registered Dietitian. Her employers told her on Tuesday if she didn't pass she would have to be replaced. She works for a group of Doctors and the insurance companies weren't reimbursing them since she wasn't officially an RD.
No pressure...
Everybody raise a glass today & celebrate!!! I know I am...
Basketball is back. Yipee!
