D-League

A photo sent from my nephew who is trying to get back to his home. The is U.S. 98 and he lives about 5 miles down the road in the back country. Also a photo of a seafood house where his two sons sell blue crabs and stone crabs for spending money. My brother set them up with 5 crab traps on St George Island.

I know this sounds crazy, but it's just hard to believe that something other than a bomb can cause so much damage. Just awful and heartbreaking

Ace, that shows it all. The power of wind and rain. Devastating. Have you seen Tyndall AFB ? You would think they would have flown those fighter jets out of there.

Lord have mercy, that’s some serious damage in that video. That one place looked like an RV dealership?

Had a good time today. We went to Bardstown and then on to Danville. Saw lots of piddler mall stuff but didn't buy anything this trip.

My new computer has decided it no longer has an audio driver. I've tried to download one and now I can't figure out how to install it. Needless to say, I am not happy about this. I'm new to windows 10 but I'm learning where things are that I need. @AustinTXCat

Austin knows this stuff. Probably some others. Hold the phone. Someone will help you. Calm down.

Reading another story about college basketball pay for play and came across this...

"He also described how he texted then-Louisville head coach Rick Pitino in a panic in September 2017 when he learned there was an investigation into the payments made to several players, including Louisville recruit Brian Bowen Jr.

''I was just looking for information, and I instinctively reached out to him,'' the witness said".

Haha, he "instinctively" contacted Rick when he found out there was an investigation. A bag man for Adidas contacted Rick when he found out he was in trouble. WHY?

One thing that pisses me off about the Louisville situation is that I know good and well that they will not get the punishment they deserve. They have been a dirty program since Denny got there and never slowed down when Rick stepped in. Cars, drugs, whores. There has been a blind eye from within there for a long time. Maybe it was a blindfold. Whatever, the admin didn't have time to police athletics, nor risk financial loss for doing so. Win at all and any cost.

First, reboot the PC.

Second, what's meant by "can't figure out how to install it"? Describe the behavior.

Reboot was my first move. I downloaded a driver that's supposed to be for this application but the computer says it's dangerous and may cause a crash or instability. I downloaded Google Earth and that's when the trouble began. Evidently that led to the sound driver being totally erased.

Friend stopping by later for the inaugural cook on the new table. Beef tenderloin. I've had it salted down and uncovered on a rack in the fridge for two days. Plan on cooking to an internal of 120° with a dome temp of 200°. Then I'll take it off and let the egg come up to about 600°. Put it in that inferno for about 10 minutes to get a good crust. Should be a splendid medium rare by then and a great compliment to the beer buzz that will be going on by the time it's done.

  • Good Morning, D-League.
  • It is 67º this morning with a high of 88. Cooler weather is on the way with overnight lows forecast for next week in the 50's. Low humidity. It is winter time
  • Got a message from my nephew. US 98 is wiped out but he is going to try 65 from Blountstown through Tates Hell Forest. Spent last night in his truck because he can't travel in the dark. His 4 wheel truck and chainsaws should clear a path to his house. May take a while.
  • I watched videos of Michael on You Tube. It is amazing what these drones can do to get video up close and from a distance. The ones posted on You Tube yesterday were incredible.
  • I can't believe the loss of power in Virginia and North Carolina. Twice as many as Florida. We are thankful Michael came ashore at a sparse population. God only knows what would have happen if Panama took a direct hit. And if it had hit Pensacola =!!
  • Anxious to watch a little Madness tonight. Wish they would omit the girls and let them have a separate event. But oh well.
  • Stay safe today and thank you for your prayers.

Thanks. I'm probably going back to sleep but I looked at that link and will try it out later. I'm probably going to just reset it to last week.
Unsure about installed software on your PC, or even the brand, but it may include proprietary restore software already installed.

You might also look at potential conflicts between Google Earth and sound drivers on your PC before restore attempt.

Holy chit, man!!! This is fan-effin-tastic!!!

Yankees...gone. Eff the Yankees and all of their fans.
St. Louis Cardinals...gone = No delusional Cards fans. Eff them too.
UofL basketball program is in the middle of another shite storm. Eff them three.
Mean Machine knocked off the last remaining undefeated fantastical football team and is primed for it's annual championship run.

Then...just like clockwork...when all seems to be right within the sports world...the sports gods go and take a huge dump on the parade...and don't even have the common decency to oblige us with a courtesy flush. Does this story that Skal is not going to be eligible have any legs?

Time is a flat circle ... or ... KS is a broken record.

Good morning D League. Been too busy since my early week trip to NYC to weigh ikn, but I trut everyone is getting along well. It was a successful trip, work wise, but all that sticks in my head is that extraordinary view of a fully lit Manhattan as you leave the Holland Tunnel at night. I'd never want to live there, but there is nothing like the place,

Shortish day today, then we're headed down to a little town on the tip of the Chesapeake Bay, an old fishing village called St. Michael's, one of the oldest towns in Maryland. Should be fun, but I'll miss Big Blue Madness. I'll look for your thoughts here.

We just love NYC. Just no place else like it. I often think it wouldn't be a bad place to live if you didn't have to work! I love the old boroughs, The Bronx, Queens etc. So much to see and do there.

I have never been to NYC and never particularly wanted to go. I have come to hate large cities. I don't mind living an hour away from one and going in occasionally on an excursion. But always am glad to get back to my island in the desert. I own three homes (humble brag) in this community.I gave one to a daughter and another to a granddaughter so she can provide a home after we die for another daughter, her mother, who is bipolar and totally dysfunctional.

Ace, my wife's large extended family is from NYC. They run the gamut from poor to rich and live everywhere from Brooklyn and Manhattan to City Island and a small town on Long Island called Point Lookout. My recommendation to those who want to try it: Bring big bags of money.

I'm pretty sure GE was the culprit. According to my research the sound on my computer is dependent upon the graphics driver. Makes sense that GE had made a graphics change that conflicted with my audio driver. I'll get it figured out and then enjoy the triumph over technology.

Ymmot, you just bought this machine. Take it back to where you bought it to their pros. They should fix you up at no charge.

Yes, they could fix it. I have to drive 30 miles there and back and then do it all over again to pick it up. I'll fix it myself eventually.

44° F and sunny on this crisp morning.

Got Texas company tonight and this weekend. Then Saturday I have North Carolina company also. Going to be a fun weekend.

Ymmot, I have never cooked a beef tenderloin. So I suppose you are cooking it like a roast?

Exactly Bert. It is a roast I guess. A very fine roast. It's 3.4 pounds and cylindrical in shape.

Currently drinking a MONSTER 16 oz cup of coffee.

I'll be wired for sound in a few minutes.

My Contigo is 16oz and that is all I ever drink coffee out of. I take one or two hours to finish it though. Stays hot the entire time. There are times though when I can tell I've drank it pretty fast because I can feel the caffeine getting up on me.

You know, upon second thought, no, you wouldn't cook it like a roast you are cooking to get well done and melt all the connective tissue to make it tender. Beef tenderloin is already tender, hence the name, and most people like it cooked the same as they would a rib roast. A nice crust on the outside and medium rare on the inside. That's how I intend to cook this one. Low and slow (200°) until the center is 120°. Then take it out and ramp up the temp to around 600° and leave it in there for 10 to 15 minutes to get a good crust on it. After rest it should be about 130° in the center and a nice medium rare.

  • Good Morning, D-Leagueanites and Wildcats and NOBs.
  • 52º when I got up. 61º now. I still have my worn warm jacket on. Feels good.
  • Lola wouldn't stay out here.
  • That Michael got Florida. Pray for those folks. President Trump will be blamed for this.
  • Found a big Pine limb in our yard this morning. It would have killed a person if one got a direct hit. Y'all be careful with that sort of thing.
  • TGIF!!!
  • Watch for the IDMOs. Don't let'em kill you.
  • As you were. Carry on.

Start by removing Google Earth.
See the URL below about restoring to an earlier point.

  • After the reset, as you setup your Win10 system, let's turn some stuff off as Edge will hijack your browsing and drivers, Microsoft luvs you so very much and desires you experience all their hard work putting you in a box.
  • When you setup up Google Chrome Browser and leap into Google's box, MS will complain and suggest you use edge as the default hince competing for the drivers.
  • Setup Sound hardware via the Control Panel
  • Install Google Earth Pro from this link via the Chrome browser. Linky

I am a country boy. Raised on the farm on the edge of a little town. After college I had to live in big towns. 32 years of city living and I retired to a town that does not have a traffic light.

For decades I had to call on customers in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, San Francisco, Miami, Tampa, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Dallas, Minneapolis et.al. I vowed to my wife that when I retire I will never go to New York or LA again in my life short of a dire emergency.

So far I have kept my promise. My best friend lived on Cape Cod and any reasonable map from Smiths Grove, KY to Cape Cod takes you through New York. So I drive to Cleveland - Buffalo and come in on the Mass Parkway. I avoid New York!

Many of my co-workers would not move away from a big city. I never got the big city virus. The last turd on a side walk that I have seen was my last trip to New York, right smack daub on Madison Avenue.

"I'm just a country boy, country boy at heart."

Excitement starting to build as the morning turns to noon. Wife wants to go to a small town 30 minutes away after work. Pick up daughter at home around 4:30pm drive 30 minutes to go shopping then eat dinner out somewhere and drive 30 minutes back. Madness starts at 6pm here and there is not enough time to go there. I said, "have at it but, it will be without me." She just looked at me and said "We planned this earlier this week" I said "No, you planned this earlier this week, I told you Monday what week this was" Then a look come over her face that told me it sunk in. " Easy enough she says, we can go tomorrow."

I've trained her well. Don't mess with my madness.
