D-League

Visitation tomorrow for a good friend's son that passed away Thursday from a blood clot. Only 28 years old. This will be the third friend that has lost a son/daughter in their 20's within the past 5 years. God it must be tough for a parent to bury one of their kids at such a young age.

73.4° F here and 99% humidity. Sticky. The sun has been shinning but is now behind some clouds. Rain is predicted this afternoon.

I have some wonderful company tonight. Basil Qaqish. He is originally from Jordan. He is very bright and we have some common history.

You all have a good Monday.

  • Good Morning, D-Leagueanites.
  • 73º in Johns Creek. We had rain last night. Didn't hear it.
  • 17/17.
  • The Zoysia looks good. Lush.
  • The crows are working on our figs.
  • 1st mug of DM gone. Need to get some more. Got it.
  • Talked to #3 for a little while yesterday afternoon. He was in bed. 6 hours difference.
  • Take care. Be safe on this Monday.
  • Carry on.

Hello everybody!
Boss is on vacation today...makes for a better Monday.
I missed a few pages but was keeping up for the most part.
#2 is moving into a rent house, we've been helping her paint and fix it up. It needs A LOT of help. Owner is supposed to be putting in new windows, fixing roof, etc... She is also 7 months pregnant, is a Server 3-4 nights a week and taking Summer classes to get her Special Ed teaching endorsement.
Bert...you might remember...her house is on South Barker, basically the Howell railroad yards are a block behind the house. Wasn't that great of an area back then, probably even worse now. But I digress...
On the other hand #1 got a job offer. Proud Dad moment! She finishes up her intern to become a Registered Dietitian on Aug 10 & starts a new job on Aug 13 as a Registered Dietitian for the Digestive Care Center here in Evansville. It looks like a pretty good job, but....
As for me, still listening to some local Blues music, playing golf (not very well), and workin' Nothing exciting.
A guitarist/band from around Dallas Texas was here in Eville last week...man they were good. Kind of a cross between Stevie Ray Vaughn & ZZ Top. Lance Lopez...look'em if you get a chance...if you like that stuff of course.

Hope everyone is doing well. Guess I need to get back to work....

We beat Evansville Bosse H.S. 21-20 in 1960. One of my PATs went over the brick wall and out of the stadium area. That was a happy night.

....

I remember; however, I did not travel the streets much.

Those were some special years in my career. I was young and agressive. The railroad liked that.

Got rained out about halfway through golf, actually a third of the way through. I was tooling along at two over par too. Bummer. I got soaked because a downpour hit and I was far away from the cart. Oh well, we're on again for next Monday.

Pork belly burnt ends are gone. I'm picking up Dad tomorrow and I think we should donate part of our day to finding me another pork belly. Those little fat pills are perfect for a keto diet.

Speaking of diet, I'm down 9 pounds as of this morning. I thinking about taking it down to 185 but it would be hard for me to stay there.

I still weigh 234.
