D-League

Good afternoon. Still hot, but hey, it's July. As with catfan, looking for some pop ups to cool it down a bit. Fixed some plumbing under the sink and put a new ignitor on our gas oven. Both jobs fairly easy and big time brownie points with my wife. Computer is acting right again. Still havn't figured out bottom ice maker. Could an old filter cause it. It's showing that it needs replacing. FCC.

Replace, it might be clogged.

Took a day trip to Bardstown today. Piddler mall and a couple of antique stores. Hit up Boones for some meat goodies and the old pharmacy downtown for some potassium nitrate to make some more corned beef. It was a flurry of activity there today and no one seemed to know why.

Right now i've got some pork belly going on the egg. Should be done with it around 2100. Pork belly burnt ends. Mmmmm...

Papa Johns announced they are taking his image off of all marketing materials and boxes. Trying to reestablish the brand in a different direction
Wiped from existence like an old Twilight Zone episode. Papa Johns was really falling behind in the pizza wars so this could be a good thing. My recommendation, make a better tasting pizza.

Little bit come back from church camp at Johnathan Creek with a bad earache. They had come back Tuesday but yesterday her temp spiked at 103.4. Rushed her to the doctor and got some drops and oral antibiotic. Just minutes ago it spiked again and left a headache in it's wake. Bummer when your kids feel bad. Wish it was me instead of her. FCC.

Pork Bellies hhhgggmmmmmm

Pork belly almost done.

Would be nice to hear from Bev.

Got my DL renewed today. Showed it to the deputy there and said "you should have got me yesterday, I'm legal today". He said I would be surprised at how many people forget it. I didn't tell him that I didn't forget it, I just blew it off because I had other things to do.

WC, I'll be checking for a better alternative to postimages.org. Something has changed. I can't really put my finger on it. No evidence on anything, I just sense it. Recently, I've had links broken, nothing to scream about for something I'm not paying for. When I find something stronger, I won't keep it a secret.
Thank you.

I think the first KFC was in Provo Utah. The one in Corbin was the first place he sold his chicken. I've ate there before too.
The Provo restaurant was the indeed first KFC franchise. Opened in 1952. Col Sanders -- possibly related to my wife, we need to check -- opened his first restaurant in North Corbin in 1937 after purchasing the inn across the street.

Good morning. I don't why, but I seem to be awake early this AM.

Burnt ends were excellent for the most part. Some of them had some tough spots but I don't know what I could have done to prevent that. I think it had more to do with the belly than the process. Taste is as good as bbq gets. There is honey, brown sugar, and butter! Not to mention bacon. How could it taste bad?

Ate at a KFC one morning in Vidalia GA with a terrible hangover. I thought livers would make me feel better so I loaded up on them at the buffet. I ate a couple and then said "these livers are garbage" One of the guys asked me if they were the worst I'd ever had and I told him they were. Then he said "I guess they would be, those are gizzards". I said "oh".

I'm hungry.

  • Good Morning to you early rising donut-eating D-Leagueanites.
  • 73º in Johns Creek. Well we got that hard rain last night. And toonder and lightning. We needed the rain. The sky looks like we will be getting some more.
  • QB is up too.
  • @warrior-cat. Pretty home. And nobody will accuse you of starving your dogs. You are ready for a fish-fry.
  • My 92 year old uncle told my 1st cousin that he was going to sue him if he didn't give his car keys back. He has no business driving though. Bless his sweet old heart. My cousin has hired a nice lady to sit with them all day.
  • QB just brought this cute little dog out. That storm scared her last night. Under bite.
  • I don't see them, but I hear the Northern Cardinals peeping.
  • Pull up a chair. The hot KKs should be here momentarily. My DM is gone. Need another mug.
  • Be careful out there.
  • Carry on.

There's a lot of yard sales in the neighborhood this morning. I actually saw a glockenspiel for sale. I called it a xylophone and was quickly corrected. Xylophones have wood keys (or whatever they're called) while glockenspiels have metal. Trivial fact for this Saturday morning.

Enjoy the day!
