Agree thought chandler played really good defensively
Noah was great. I think he may have stolen Travis Perry’s minutes tonight.
Yep, and great experience for them in a hostile BB environment.
He also had a nice drive and assist for a 3 if I remember correctly!
I'm impressed with Noah. He's an old school 4 year player. He's got the heart and hustle of KY born player. I'm excited to see his growth.
Chandler was good defensively. Scares me to death when he has the ball on offense. Noah blocks out, played well on D and is a constant threat to score. Makes winning plays. I haven’t understood why he hasn’t been on the floor more this season. Plays like he belongs.
Noah and Chandler gave us some good minutes. Perry just couldn’t handle Ziegler.
He’s bigger and has a nose for the ball. Perry too little to guard a lot of people.
Baby step for Chandler tonight. Noah was great, though.
I don’t understand the bitching and moaning by supposed basketball fans about Chandler playing. We’re down THREE players, who else is going to play? There are no free agents or midseason trades. He’s getting better.
It has reached the point where I have no concern when Noah enters the game. He hustles, and you better not let him get a look at the basket from behind the line or he will let it go.
I'm thinking you're right. He definitely should be a 4 year guy and will become a pain in the #*$ for SEC teams for many years.

To be honest there are very few guards who can handle Zieglers quickness and defensive pressure. Ziegler is a freaking blurr. He single handedly took out Georgia early in the second half.

He made a REALLY bad turnover that resulted in a Vol dunk late in the game, but his athleticism on defense against the Vols perimeter players was GREAT!!!!
The kid just can't catch a break on his shot, but it will come around.
Noah was OUTSTANDING!!!!! That 3 he made from WAAAAY OUT was HUGE, he played decent defense, ran some 50/50 balls down and even got a steal!!!! The kid is NOT intimidated by the moment!!!! He just continues to get better!!
It’s a shame Noah’s not faster, because he’s got the skills and instincts. And he doesn’t seem at all intimidated by SEC competition or the pace of play at this level.

Early in the first half UT's big pounded into the chest of Chandler down low and Chandler did give an inch. Was impressed.
I think all three played great given the circumstances. Chandler specifically was thrown into a tough road environment out of necessity and held his own.
I think the big thing is that all three seemed to play with confidence. They didn't shy away from the moment, went and got the ball, and shot if they had a good look. I feel like that's something we rarely saw with multi year projects or bench pieces with Cal.

He stole Carr's. He doesn't play PG. Perry usually backs up Butler. Tonight others played PG.
Noah seems to be in the mold of Feldhaus/Pelphry
Chandler athletically is gifted with tremendous lateral quickness and appears to be able to body up, he did his job
That’s what I’m saying though. Robinson will play point guard when Butler is out and Noah will get more run at the 3/4.
I'm interested in his development since he seems to be playing the 4. I thought of him as more of a small forward before the season. He could be great in a year or two when he develops his body a bit. Still looks like a high schooler this year, lol
Noah is a terrific shooter...he and Brea and Almanor are guys who rarely miss when they're open. Chandler impressed me with his athleticism defensively and he did make a terrific assist on a drive and kick to Ansley.
Noah is one of those "tweener" guys where I think there's always gonna be a question mark as to what his best position is. Offensively he has the skills to play several positions, but the slow feet may limit where he can play defensively.
So far it seems like his best minutes have all come at the 4 spot. He seems a bit undersized for the 4, but that is the spot that's been working for him.
How happy is Noah and his family that Pope arrived on the scene here and he got to play a big part in our win in Knoxville?

Noah hit a couple of big shots, Ugh, nothing I watched from Chandler instills confidence in me he can play this year. Not bashing him, he has been away and stepping up in competition, but I didn't see anything to give him credit for. Noah om the other hand, big time 3.
Who was the idiot that started the thread "Almonor gives us nothing"? It was after the game he played really good defense (Florida game) and Pope singled him out, then the game the day the thread was started, he hit a couple big shots and rebounded, defended his ass off. He has played very solid the last 5/6 games is really an important player the rest of the way.
I don't know, he could be 0-8 in conference at South Carolina though, hard to pass up
I was pleased with Chandler tonight only for what this kind of in-game experience will do for him going forward. Those minutes in that kind of environment against that caliber of team are invaluable. I thought his basketball-equivalent to a pick-6 late in the game was almost inexcusable, but we managed to overcome it and Almonor's turnover. Chandler has much promise because of his athleticism. I look for it to really click for him as as sophomore.
Side note: I think Pope has a lot of belief and faith in Chandler as a player at UK in the future. I noticed he gave him a longer embrace than other players after the game and I get the sense that he's trying to keep him engaged and interested and I think this type of coaching and tact will pay dividends as I believe Chandler will one day truly ARRIVE.

I know Noah was far from an unknown, even in the vaunted recruiting rankings; and he was initially going to another Power Conference team, not a mid-major. But he feels like one of those guys that could have went to a mid-major and blown up and every program in the country would have been clamoring for him in the portal by his Jr. year. UK is just fortunate enough to get him out of the gate and develop him themselves. I think the mid-major to transfer portal is often the best development route for guys who wouldn't be getting much playing time at a Power Conference school in their first couple of years (and then might end up transferring anyway). But with Pope I believe Noah is in the right place to reach his potential. I'm excited about it because I think he's going to be a really good SF - I mean a no-brainer starting SF for UK even in the fans' eyes by his Jr. year.
He played well. Props to him and Coach for using him effectively. However, let's not get crazy about his minutes.
Its a amazing what happens when players are able to throw off their nerves and just play free and with some aggression. When they do that all their real natural abilities come out, when they play scared all those are hidden. Chandler was the toast of pre-season practices and games but seemed to lose all confidence in season. He needs to just play free and let his athleticism out. Tom Leach kept referring to him being physical and aggressive on the defensive side, even shoving one guy and thats a good sign.
Same applies to Williams when he does that
