Just tossing this idea out there...

What could be fun is if we got a group of people who would be interested in throwing in some money to win this auction (how much would depend on how many people entered) split the the total cost of the winning bid, then do a random drawing to pick the winner. That way you are only spending a very small amount of money to have a chance to win this experience. Just a thought. That way we could guarantee the winner would be from this board.

Example... The final auction price is $2,000 and we have 50 entrants who want a chance to win. Each entrant would pay $40 to enter (2,000/50). Randomly choose out of those 50 people to select the winner.

Not sure what the state of Kentucky has to do with it if the Ebay auction is held in California. All we would need is someone with an ebay account (me) to make sure we win, collect the money from the entrants, then pay for the auction. Then I would have the drawing (could live stream it) and pick a random winner. I would send the prize to the winner.

I'd rather they did some kind of raffle where it costs $10 to enter and there is a random winner. I'm sure they would get at least a few thousand entries and it would dwarf that $7400 amount and gives us "poors" a chance at something like that. One of the few things I am disappointed with in the Coach Cal era. Everything always is an auction for special memorabilia or other cool stuff. I know this one appears to be ESPN's idea, but all the ones Coach Cal does seems to end up at auction.
