Coach Cal visiting Zion Williamson today

Interesting. I'll take it. Do you mind sharing who? You got this inside information from? I've never seen anything really saying they won't play together... same when someone else said shittu and Zion "don't like each other and won't play together " I asked for a source or even ... anything verifying and they started hurling insults instead lol
This is why I asked Nu huh for some more info, I've never heard anything about RJ and Simi having a problem. One could assume that just from how things happened at IMG but people can assume wrong and all he said was that info was out there on the AAU circuit.

I'm not going to turn this into a Tubby debate, but at least he had some decent classes and a few top 10 recruits.

Billy had kids that ended up at Asbury and quit basketball because they weren't good enough. Compared to that, Sherray Thomas and Shagari look pretty good.
So I'm guessing you weren't worried when tubby signed Adam Williams or had a player decide he would play a year at prep school instead of signing with Kentucky. Gillispee was a disaster and a joke , but Kentuckys recruiting problems were worrisome before I'd ever heard of him .

Looks like he is visiting Zion this week after all...

Looks like they want him. Want him bad. (Cal I'm speaking of...)[smoke] Cal be the Chuck Norris of Recruiting, He lessens hurricanes when needed. (For those with the need to defend the hurricane victims plight.....I was just kidding...I didn't mean anything slighting the hurricane victims. (Have a couple hurricane victims in my family.)[eyeroll]

That's when it got concerning. Tubby was signing one poor class then a solid or even good class every other year up until that year. We were rarely a national title contender but we had a few runs to the elite 8 and a non foul call on a Sparks 3 away from a final four.

The only players Billy brought in on his own that were any count were Daniel Orton and Deandre Liggins and Orton screwed UK over.

With Tubby things were definitely going down hill as he just didn't care enough to recruit anymore. The scary part with Billy is I think he was trying.

I know a lot of fans and experts that continue to say Williamson and Barrett to KU or Duke. In most articles from Zion Williamson he has always stated the great relationship that he and Coach Cal have over the last couple of years of recruiting. I also know in some of these articles talking about the Zion and Coach Cal relationship that also his mom really likes Coach Cal and UK. That always helps when you have your mom and parents liking the head coach and school. I feel this class will get Quickley, Johnson seems to be really liking what he heard from Coach Cal in his in-home visit to change his official for this weekend with Quickley. I know a lot of fans on here are saying it will depend who stays next year with Kentucky. If you look at most 2018 Mock NBA Draft Boards they have Vanderbilt at #12 and Washington at bottom of 1st round or top of 2nd round. I have seen Gabriel in a few of the Mock draft boards in late 1st round pick and Richards is right behind Knox in the top 10 of the 2018 NBA Mock Draft Boards. We all know that we will be probably lose Knox, Vanderbilt, Washington, Richards, maybe Gabriel and who knows what kind of years that Quade Green and the rest of the backcourt will have in there 1st year at UK. With UK and Coach Cal we know that most of the players do tryout without hiring an agent unless they are sure pick Lottery pick. With Coach Cal outstanding recruiting since being at UK I could see us getting Quickley, Johnson, WIlliamson, Shittu, and Barrett in 2018 especially if we lose the players we think we will lose to the 2018 NBA Draft.

I've heard his stepfather is really pushing him hard to Clemson and they are a much bigger player than people think ,but I've also heard that his stepfather doesn't have that much influence on him .

That is the Brownell agenda as well. He got to keep his job with this little nugget that he had a shot at Zion. Well, doesn't look like they made the final 5, and SC is in the Final 5.

Talk about a crazy thought that he stays instate! I believe SC is the only state we have not had a recruit play for us. Is that inaccurate?

I think South Carolina is the only state in the South where we have not had a recruit.

I went over to Jon Scott's site to check, and it looks like we haven't had any recruits from about 16 states. Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Delaware, S. Carolina, Minnesota, N. Dakota, Nebraska, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Nevada (that surprises me), Arizona, New Mexico, and Hawaii.

Edit: If you count where they played High School ball or JC I know we have had a few from some of these states: Nevada - Deandre Liggins and PJ Washington, Idaho - Kevin Galloway.

Tubby was hit and miss. Only thing going downhill was fan support. He had a commitment from Draymond Green when he finally lost the fan base completely and bolted.

Draymond was a sophomore in High School at the time I believe. He likely had Patterson/Lucas ready to commit, but that's open for speculation. All we knew for sure was that Mike Williams and AJ Stewart were committed to a roster that really needed some interior help.

I got a good grasp on 4 recruits that I feel very very very confident that will be cats. I think cal will land 5 maybe 6 depends on a few things.
