Well, we gave it our best effort. It's hard to compete with all those Big12 Titles.
Disappointed in Cal. Letting a damn hurricane spoil a visit.

Sorry the way I read it : It was cancelled by the family because they had Family members along the coast. No date rescheduled as of yet!?!
Still Cals fault. Duke/ coach K for example, would NEVER have let this happen. Even hurricanes don't stop the K train. Real talk, point blank period.
The Hurricane may cancel the visit, but won't stop Cal's recruitment with the kid. When it's time to decide, Zion will agree with Cal and be playing his college hoops in Lexington, KY. It might be true if you want to win a national title, Barrett is the kid Cal has to sign, Zion is no bum. A monster talent like Zion on the same roster as Barrett means Cal and Kentucky will get nonstop media coverage during the college basketball season. Not to mention also makes Kentucky a huge title contender.
That may be true but it was his mother who cancelled his visit and so far no reschedule date. I'm beginning to thank Zion has put us on the burner. I can't get a read on Barrett yet but either or both would be a great start. I still think Quickly commits soon and that might help with Zion. If Cal offers Shittu this week it might help with Barrett both Canadians. Time will tell!
None of it sounds good. Im thinking Duke. They are cleaning up everywhere so wouldnt be surprised. Hard to believe he cancels and no hint of a reschedule. Didnt see this one coming.
If it was K visiting the NCAA would have rescheduled the hurricane so he could get the visit in.

I am not ready to panic but it appears that the door is closing in many of our targets. Must be a lot of negative recruiting going on.
I will believe it when i see it. I really don't know how things can change so quickly in the recruiting world. I know people always said this about recruiting, but i never paid attention or noticed it as much as it has been happening lately. I remember early on Cal and Kentucky would be hard to beat with Bagley and now the kid enrolls early to play at Duke. Zion is a kid many thought made for Cal's style of play and now our visit gets canceled and now Duke is entering the picture? It is like it's not cool anymore if you are one of the elite kids and you join Cal at Kentucky. The cool thing seems to be going to Duke and roughing it for a year before going to the NBA. Who would have ever guessed putting 500 active players in the NBA might start hurting you with recruiting? I can't believe this to be true at the moment, but if we don't land Zion or Barrett, i might start to buy in. Cal with a class he might actually have to sweat a lil? Whatever is at play here won't last long and Cal will fix the problem and instead of signing the #10 player, we are back to bringing in #1, and #3 in the same month.
We were strong for Zion months after the 30 for 30 aired.
It's correlation causation. Just like that inside the program ESPN thing didn't cause us to go to the NIT. Ryan Harrow at point, Archie being our only guy who could get his shot and Nerlens getting hurt did. They just happened to be filming it.

Duke's going to get Barrett, Reddish, and Zion.... AHHHHH Cal just isnt cutting it anymore, we really need to move on to a coach the nation , media, and NCAA respects.

Cal would figure out a way to make that team work. K, no chance.
Bagley looks to have chosen Duke to gain eligibility. Langford was always a long shot and it appears that Reddish was a heavy Duke lean since forver. That hardly adds up to doors closing on 'many of our targets'. Take a deep breath and look at the class we just brought in. Cal has dealt with negative recruiting tactics for years, especially that Newman, Brown, Zimmerman and Diallo class. I trust him to bring in our fair share and see no reason to panic. We go through every year and how many times has it happened that we didn't bring in a #1 class? Maybe twice in the past 8 years and on those occasions we probably had top 2 or 3 classes.

I remember when I used to worry about recruiting... it was around 2007-2008 when we had guys like Euton and KC Ross-Miller committed.
