CI Wrestling Thread #56

Man TK must love some wwe castoffs - I’m sure that Ryan kid will spin this like everything else though - no one watches cable so this must be a big deal!

Parker Boudreaux, formerly Harland in NXT, has made his AEW Debut during the AEW Dark tapings from today.

Before taking part in the February 2021 Performance Center recruitment class, Parker was an offensive lineman for the University of Central Florida. He had made his NXT debut in October of 2021 as Joe Gacy's bodyguard, making his in-ring debut in December of 2021. His last NXT match took place in March of 2022 before he was released at the end of April 2022.

I liked Fat Walter better, I'll never call him Gunther.

Anyone watch the Goldberg documentary last night? Have it recorded will start on it tonight.

Sorry I’m sure this is unpopular but Goldberg is probably the most overrated guy ever - outside of a pretty cool win streak what did he do?
Couldn’t actually wrestle a decent match just squash matches also zero mic skills.

He was the last guy to pin Bret Hart. So that’s something.

Beating Hogan on Nitro for the title was a moment though. Fans who followed were sick of how much the NWO had grown and the crowd that night went insane when he picked Hogan up and slammed him. Shit wrestler obviously, but as a kid, seeing that on tv was pretty amazing.

Ya I mean it was and so was Luger getting the belt on nitro off hogan via the torture rack even tho he gave it back 6 days later

Gresham already relegated to dark tapings without the roh belt - basically making it aew with more belts it seems
Just about everyone but the elite level talents work on Dark and/or Dark Elevation at some point. Hell the current tag champs have been on those shows 6 times since mid-April.

Lots of people appear on Dark and Dark Elevation that aren't signed. Seems like most of the matches involve at least one person that's not signed.

Flair tweeted something earlier today along the lines of "WWE I'm coming for you," now it kind of makes sense.

I doubt a lot of those men and women doing Dark make a whole lot of money from it. Folks need a place to work so why not use them.

Very odd opening to Raw tonight, the Smart A** in me wants to believe that's some kind of don't condemn Vince BS.

I defend all of the promotions. It isn't difficult to read. It isn't my life's goal to be negative and get upset to the point of ruining my day over wrestling. You only seem to get really hot and bothered when its AEW that I'm defending. You don't seem to mind when I talk about WWE/NXT.

I value your opinion very little just calling out your bs b/c you went after Robert and he has forgotten more about wrestling then you will ever know

I really didn't ask if you valued my opinion to be completely honest. This is the internet not real life and if you get upset over digital text coming across your screen that's on you not me. At no point would I allow a wrestling fan on the internet to control my emotions the way you allow me to control yours. We just aren't on the same level.

I also don't know or care to know who Robert is because again...its wrestling. Not real life. Am I supposed to care about the foremost expert on Barney & Friends as well?

I enjoy wrestling...I enjoy WWE...I enjoy AEW...I enjoy what I get to see of New Japan...I enjoy Impact. I'm genuinely sorry if you feel the need to go through life following something you seem to hate. I am not a pessimist or a generally negative person. I only watch things I enjoy because I am not a crazy person who follows and watches things that piss me off.

Then why did you post this long stupid response - sounds like you are the one getting wound up or being passive/aggressive - what a weird response

There's cringe not only in JR's response, but also in the original post by Natalie begging for likes and attention for/with her sister on social media. I mean, that's the response they wanted. That deserves to be called out as well.
This is exactly right! Women are showing off their bodies online and wearing that shit so dudes whack it to it. So when JR posts this, he’s just saying what we’re all thinking. You can’t be bending over like that, showing them jangles off and expect people to say, “wow look at how clear the water is in that pool”.

I personally don’t get it. Nattie looks like she’s a porn star on her Twitter or Instagram, but in ring… she doesn’t hold a candle to most these chicks. It’s like the tale of two cities.

I could never get wound up. There's nothing I care about enough to get wound up about. It requires minimal effort to use my fingers to punch keys at a world record pace. Being passive-aggressive would imply that I'm letting you take control of the subject and we both know I'm the one who controls the narrative.
