So I don't watch WWE weekly because their weekly shows are awful, but this seems like a fairly uninspiring card for Day 1 outside of the main event.
The street fight on AEW last night is probably going to be better than all but maybe the main event.
This preshow match that ended up amounting to WWE burying Ricochet and Cesaro in a handicap match against Sheamus was ****ing dumb.

so I see Lio Rush put out a statement about the “diversity” and all the shit going on with swole. This stuff is getting hilarious. Even a brown man is being called a racist now. It never stops.
Edge is only one month older than Christian but he looks significantly older in the ring than Christian, and Christian has 200 more matches on his resume.
Even then it’s only if those black people have the same opinion as the masses. Hobbs, Cargill and Shawn Dean all got blasted by the very same people claiming AEW lacks diversity all because they took up for AEW and Tony. Ricky Starks got so much crap for defending AEW that he deleted his Twitter.
From what I’ve seen, Rush has been about the only one on the roster to come close to taking Swoles side. Makes me think she wasn’t well liked. Even that letter Rush put out today seemed closer to back tracking what he said yesterday than anything.
What gets me the most with Swole, is she has been loud as hell about “diversity” for a very long time now. And when diversity is brought up it clearly only applies to one race. But the first thing she did after not being renewed at AEW was go sign on with an all black promotion. As in, you can’t wrestle in that promotion unless you’re black. The hypocrisy blows me away.
The main event was ****ing nine minutes long...
In nine minutes, they let a part-timer bury five of their top talents in a match he wasn't even supposed to be part of when we woke up this morning.
Yeah that's right Big Swole, they just let a part-time white guy whose only had two matches in the last 18 minutes squash two of the three best minority wrestlers on the roster.

I feel like AEW gives you better quality matches with more sensical results regularly on their weekly shows than WWE just gave for their main event.
i didn’t even know WWE had a PPv planned today till you guys mentioned it.

When "lack of diversity" doesn't mean you are not diverse, it means you ain't got enough of mine around.

With WWE putting Brock Lesnar over when he wasn't even supposed to be in the match earlier in the day, Day 1 should have been called Day 50,000, because it was the same old same old.

Cedric Alexander from WWE, this is his wife. She’s a horrible wrestler and asked out of her contract. She said AEW wasn’t diverse and needed more black people. Tony tweeted that she is full of shit, they have plenty of diversity and flat out said she was let go because she sucks as a wrestler.
i like a few of their wrestlers, but I don’t even like AEW, but if you don’t think they have a “diverse” roster, then you’re on crack
and I don’t even like that quota stuff. If Tony wants a roster of all black, all white or all Asian wrestlers, in the grand scheme of things, it’s his business, not mine.
You should see half the tweets she puts out. Openly hates republicans and runs her sucker about white people all the time.

Other than the results, I've not had the chance to see Day 1 yet. It's unfortunate that the best thing in pro wrestling was a last minute scratch but there is a saving grace to Brock being added to the match. Was he still in his babyface persona or was he the Beast Incarnate? Regardless, maybe now, this can lead to the longed for Bobby Lashley chase which will culminate with him dethroning Brock at Mania. Everyone has wanted to see this for years. Maybe they won't screw it up.
So was the original match supposed to be Lesnar/Reigns? I honestly have no idea what’s going on wwe, like not a thing at all.
Yes, it was supposed to be a 4 way (Big E, Rollins, Owens, Lashley) and then Roman and Lesnar in the other main event. Reigns pulled out for covid so they moved Lesnar to the other match making it a 5 way.

There was enough T&A in that street fight to go around for months.
Cody needs to turn. He’s at the point now where people just don’t want to see him at all, which is the worst possible spot to be in.

We can only hope Lio gets fired again. He is horrible and adds nothing to a show.

Looks like a pretty obvious Lashley/Lesnar feud coming up next - but what's next for Roman? McIntyre is the only guy on the Smackdown roster with enough cache to realistically challenge him.
on one hand Wrestle Kingdom should be awesome, but on the other New Japan making it 3 nights really ruined my excitement, and also ruined the G1 in the process.
but night 1 Shingo Takagi vs. Okada should be incredible.

also Shibata is wrestling. Which I'm mixed about it considering he retired due to a freaking head injury
Hell with WWE's way of thinking, they make put a rocket on Rex Steiner and have him come feud with Roman. Disregard the fact that he only has about 4 matches under his belt and hasn't even got the NXT belt yet. No question at all that he has potential to be the future but with WWF brass, they'll find a way to f it up. Hell, they already changed his working name from Rex Steiner (Which was absolutely perfect and made sense) to Bron Breakker (WTF).
