CI Wrestling Thread #56

Matt Jackson said they were going to do the Flair-HBK superkick thing on BTE this week. I don't think they usually do that much WWE stuff.

AEW has done a fantastic job making the Young Bucks as hatable as possible (Omega too). It will be spectacular when they eventually lose the titles.

Is AEW always using this much WWE stuff in it or is it just tonight? From all of the moves in the tag match (the Styles Clash) to just doing a spinoff of Austin bringing the beer truck to the ring and spraying everyone.
They rarely do anything original

Is it weird that doing something really expensive, licensing music for entrances, actually makes the product seem cheap?

It just reminds me of guys coming out to AC/DC and Metallica at the county fair.

Agreed Archer and Miro could be really good. Just glad Miro won,

Wonder if the Omega interference was the original end to the Pac-OC match?
Seemed like OC was legit out of it.

Why I just accepted Orange Cassidy as my favorite wrestler. It's because his entrance music is Pixies.

I personally enjoy licensed music for entrances. Some work, some don't. And I'm glad they're going triple threat for the AEW title. I think this may actually be the first time AEW has done a Triple Threat match. I can't remember one.

At this point is anything truly original? By that I mean most things have been done in some form with some company before.
Yeah not disagreeing but it’s almost blantant how some of this stuff is ripped off - styles clash/Jericho spot etc. it’s almost like they know wwe is watching and trying to get under their skin which is the opposite of the original agenda of aew

Glad Miro won, now let’s see what he can do on his own. Credit to AEW on Darby, I think they’ve done a great job of building him up inside and outside the ring. Probably the best talent they’ve built up outside of the already established talents.

I got no interest in DON, will probably be passing on this one.

The kick out by OC after the powerbomb was just Pac letting go of him no kick out at all. I am pretty sure he hit his head on the powerbomb and was out of it.

I don't understand why the IWC is crapping all over Cody's promo, other than that's what they do with pretty much everything.

According to Meltzer and Mike Johnson the original finish was supposed to be a 20 minute draw between OC and Pac to set up the triple threat. When it became obvious that he couldn't continue they sent Omega out there.

Seems like at some point they always go back to WWE. I would be interested to see if AEW did try to sign Vega.

AEW is gonna pass on Zega and bring in Tessa. I know everyone is denying talks, but I highly doubt that. I'm sure daddy has a lil pull there.

Still I think the greatest entrance of all time was Taker coming out to Limp Bizkit. I know it was a live performance, so may not count... but damn!

According to PW Torch Dynamite did 936,000 viewers and a a .31 in the demo which is a pretty big drop. Of course I haven't seen this posted anywhere else so we will see.
