CI Wrestling Thread #56

I appreciate Cena and think he deserves 17 but I would tread lightly on how to go about it. Putting it on him at Mania seems a little too fairytale when you could use that to really build some storylines. I could see him getting a short mid summer run and then dropping it back at Summerslam but I think it'd take away the "magic" of Wrestlemania.

I just realized that Brock Lesnar's daughter was the 2024 NCAA Champion in shotput.

Never trust a leaked wrestling "script" for something major that's still weeks away. Best guess is right now creative probably has a good idea of who the final four guys are but an entire countdown this early isn't worth anyone's time. Plus I think Cena might win at EC and why would Rock be anywhere near the Rumble match? He's The Final Boss. If he wants Cody for the title...he can just come out and say it's happening.

I agree about Cena and EC they’ve been advertising heavily he will be there.

I had to search for AEW on Wednesday on Max but since I watched Dynamite on there the shows come up for me.

There was a number (I'm sure is fake) saying 1.3 million people watched at least some of Dynamite when you factor in max. The cable number was about 600,000.

WWE has signed a deal with Hulk Hogan's "Real American Beer." I think he's supposed to be on tonight.

Wrestle Dynasty sounded like a pretty good show. Of course tonight is the big one, first Raw on Netflix.

CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins.
Roman Reigns vs. Solo Sikoa - Tribal Combat.
WWE World Women's Champion Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley - Last Woman Standing Match.
Drew McIntyre vs. Jey Uso.
The Rock returns.
John Cena returns.
Michael Cole and Pat McAfee return.

Heard tons of empty seats for wrestle kingdom - losing top stars over the years caught up to them.

I saw the raw ring there’s maybe 6 sponsors on it.

I don't care if she was Vince McMahon's paralegal. There ain't nothing makes that little rip worth keeping on the books. Not sure I have hated a lady rassler more than her.

Looks like there will be commercials if you are watching Raw in the United States. Overseas there won't be any.
I've seen rumors the show might be 3.5 hours tonight. I guess on Netflix they can go however long they want.

- Thurston (Wrestlenomics) is hearing Smackdown will go back to a 2 hr format around June.

- Becky Lynch is expected back tonight.

- I know Austin has the stance of not doing one-offs unless there's a plan in place for him but it sucks he's just rarely around now. We could've gotten him stunning Rock at Mania but got Taker instead, which really didn't fit. Would be nice to have them there tonight. Guy is turning into Cornette, ie not wanting to leave the state he's currently living in.

- There's a Meltzer quote where he jokingly called Omega the "God of everything" (whatever that means) and said he should be AEW champion. I might agree with the second part. Darby ain't the soul of that place, it's Omega. All I know is find someone who loves you like Meltzer loves Omega and Ospreay. I fawned over Rock and Austin...when I was 14.
