So we score 81 and cover the spread and people are pissed? Seems about right.

But replace those three point looks that were going down with 2 point jumpers that could have went down instead, and we lose points. Taking 3's instead of 2's gave us additional oomph.
This team played about 15 points below what they’re capable of. Open your eyes!
And they still won while scoring 81 and covering the spread. If that’s what we are trotting out for our “C” game, I‘ll gladly take it. Now they just need to watch the tape, learn/fix things, and get better for the next outing.

Not playing a perfect game and winning be 30 sums up why Cow must go and be arrested. The team is ruined 9 games into the season because of CCC. I can’t believe these are serious takes.

Just for the record, our adjusted tempo ranking has increased after the Penn game. Before the game we were 36th in the nation, and after we were 34th. So the stats literally say the exact opposite of this.
Our defense is what cost us against unc Wilmington man.. they scored every single time we needed them not to score. Couldn't stop those 2 main guys
What kind of offense were we using when Penn tied the score in the second half?
Cal actually used the phrase "grind it out" to describe his strategy. How else would you take that comment, Ellen?

You don't have to be a basketball genius to realize the vast majority of things people are bitching about in this thread simply aren't true. And in the face of objective statistics that say those things aren't true people say "well my eye test says they are!"
In this thread people have said:
- We're back to playing slow, grind it out basketball. We aren't. The tempo since Bradshaw has started playing has actually increased by quite a bit. This isn't an opinion, that's what the adjusted tempo stats say.
- That we've been posting up both Bradshaw and Mitchell on the block at the same time. We haven't been. When both are in the game we're still playing a well spaced 4 out type offense.
- That posting up Bradshaw is automatically bad. When Golden State was at their peak they were still in the top 5 in the NBA in post ups.
- That the offense has changed dramatically since the Miami game. It hasn't. We took one fewer three against Penn than we did against Miami. And depending on your definition of what a long 2 point shot is, two more of those. That's barely a difference and certainly nothing to get worked up about.
- That we look lost against a zone. We don't. We average more points per possession against the zone than we do man to man. We've actually been incredibly good against the zone this year.
This was about the end of the game when the final outcome was already determined. Isn’t it better to work on these situations in a game that you have in hand rather than having to figure it out in a controlled environment (practice) or when it would actually effect the outcome?
Grind it out in close games sure. I think everyone uses that comment...
