CATS or NBA. Who are you for ?

I'm for UK and lots of UK players in the NBA is good for UK. The fact that you and the OP can't see that make you both either trolls, U of L fans, or special needs. If you are 1 or 2, I hate you. If you are 3 I love you and would like you sponsor your trip the the "olympics".
so we both make posts saying we are ALL UK but somehow you think that means we are UoL fans? Trolls are converging over there --------------->

I know it's nice to say that NBA star went here for one year and we have plenty to cheer for but me personally I only watch the conference finals in the NBA. I cheer for the Blue and White Jersey that says Kentucky across the chest and whoever wears it. After they leave I really don't follow them because I have a whole new team to follow. My point is so many posts reflect that one team doesn't develope talent and others do.

Do we really want to say we have 50 players in the league and only one title. I'm all for kids reaching their dreams but players in the league v/s NCAA titles will never compare in my book. Just seems like so many posters are caught up in how many players we have in league. Maybe we should start an ex-players in the league forum so they can focus on that since they are all about who's going to NBA.
Do you just cheer on your kids when they are young, or would you cheer them on for their adult life as well?

I have been a UK fan for many years. I remember the 1958 championship game so that takes us back a long way. I do enjoy the game of basketball and hope that I always will. However, that does not include the NBA. I haven't watched an NBA game in over 30 years and really have no desire to do so. The NBA has great athlete but the game is all one on one. I do hope that the UK grads who make to the NBA do very well but, I have no desire to watch them play at that level.

On the other hand, I am a big fan of the current system. It does not bother me at all if players only stay for one year. I just hope that year is a great one. Coach Calipari has brought great excitement to the program and it is obvious that his system works. I hope he keeps it this way for many years to come.

If we played a better first half in 2014, finish the work in 2015 for the best mordern team ever, don't get robbed in the 11 final four(lucky run or not) and the white dude misses and we get to O.T. even this year. We should 100% have two titles, and for one am as happy about our 2015 team as any team ever. The others are a few bounces or calls away from four titles. the main thing is if we would have won in 2015, every argument anyone can say is out the window. Championships are hard but we will never have a coach that consistently puts out the best two to three teams year in and out. We don't have to catch fire, lucky calls and or runs to win. We must play how we are capable of, not get a murders' row bracket or some corrupt officials in our games and we can have a shot every year. This is the best time I have ever had watching UK play. We have different styles and great players every year and it is fun to see them develop and change as the year goes by. People may complain now but when Cal is gone they will notice the drop off significantly. It is great to not worry about recruits and wonder if Jared Carter will ever be even a decent player, or if Sharay Thomas is the missing piece even though we watched for four years and neither were elite or were ever going to develop into that talent you need to win. Enjoy this time in our history. This has been a great ride.

Only time I ever followed the NBA is in the 90s and could watch Jordan nightly on WGN. I still check scores every now and then to check on former Cats and watch the playoffs from the conference finals on out. I watch every UK Game and any other decent college game that comes on TV. Heck I watch more high school basketball than probably anything being a coach. I don't think you have to be UK only or NBA only though. They are 2 completely different things. To each his own. But I can't knock fans for enjoying the sport at any level.

Everyone saying they don't enjoy the NBA game should watch Cleveland and Golden State play. If you enjoy basketball in any way those are fun teams to watch. Good ball movement as well as good defense is played in the playoffs.

I just want Cal to try and put together the best 'team' to give us our best chance to win games... with the ultimate goal being the NC. Hoping to get all of his players drafted in the first round is fine. Saying that getting a record number of players drafted In the first round is the 'greatest day in UK basketball history' is pathetic so I try to side with those that say it was said as a recruiting tool even though I'm not sure that's the case. Success after life at UK is fine with me but Cal's job is to strive for championships, not draft picks. If they go hand in hand I'm all for it but sometimes I wonder what his priorities really are.

I root for Kentucky in college. I root for former Kentucky players in the nba. Go Cats! Go Wizards, Pelicans, Timberwolves, Suns, Lakers!

It's odd that we're this "basketball obsessed" state that seems to brag about our knowledge and love of the game, but have so many that don't care about or understand the game at its highest level.

IMO, Kentucky is not a basketball obsessed state. Kentucky, for the most part, is a UK basketball state. In fact, I know more people that are Football fans (they watch any game no matter who plays) than people that feel as strongly about bball. Again, IMO, that's why I don't think Louisville will ever have an nba team. There's not enough fans of the sport to and/or capable of supporting a team.

You know exactly what you were referring too, i just simply showed you a buffet line of deserts.
Welp, now I'm even more confused. I was just pointing out that its possible to like 2 things, such as Kentucky basketball and enjoy cheering on our guys in the NBA, or cake and ice cream. It doesn't have to be one or the other. If you got more out of it than that, you were reaching.

Sounds like he's a Cal over Cats fan.
Believe it or not that seems to be the case with alot of people. Only @brianpoe would like threads trolling me because i said im 100% all about UK. You damned if you do, or if you dont with ALOT of trolls on here, they dont care what you say, they latch on like leaches and wanna argue like females or be passive agressive by liking troll coments against you.

this is the winner, it cannot be said better than this, this is EXACTLY how i feel. If trolls cant handle that then take a leap.

Considering Cal has won more games per year on average than any coach in UK history, "Cal over UK" is the single most idiotic statement in the history of idiocy.

When you set the coach who wins more games per year than any coach in UK history against UK fanhood, you are either an idiot of epic proportions, or a pure troll.

You should be banned, immediately. You are a completely worthless POS. You bring nothing to this board except irrationality in the service of idiocy.

You call me out because I liked some posts?

I love how you call long time posters here trolls and females...

You have proven yourself to be an extremely unintelligent individual.

It's always the newbies that hide behind their usernames and play the idiot.

The tone of this board has changed....

When it comes to kids leaving early. I can remember a time when this board had created every reason in the world for MKG to come back (work on his shot, improve his ball-handling, mature, etc).

Now this board justifies every early exit. (Stock is as high as it's going to get, the kid hates school, bad family situation, etc etc).

It's interesting to me. Cal is damn good.

Cal has that effect on some guys.

I'll see what former Cats are doing in the NBA, but would be ok if I never saw a NBA game again.

Never have liked it, but don't rag on those that do.

See, this is the kind of post that is full of fiction. Will those who would like to see all of them stay 4 years raise your hand? Right now I'm seeing thousands of UK fans doing that. No one on here likes them leaving early but wait for it? WE UNDERSTAND WHY MOST LEAVE EARLY! We also know that some should stay it wait for it? We know it's their decision. We are not the Whiners of the Site. Excuses we have them, but mainly it's for posters like you. Sorry for the rant.

I get what the OP is trying to say. But I think what he is missing is what having so many players in the NBA means. It is a huge recruiting tool. Being able to show that almost gives Cal his recruits of choice.

Are many of us a bit disappointed in 1 title in 8 years, yes! But we've had a reasonable chance 6 of 8 years. This just illustrates the fact that the best team wins it less than 50% of the time, because it is a OAD tournament.
