Either way Cal has to add a couple guys. 9 scholarship players including Floral won't get it done. You have to have 10 to scrimmage and a couple more players as reserves to give starters a break.
I don't know who they would be.Maker and Murray seem unlikely and I don't know of anyone else we are recruiting.

Doesn't matter how deep we are, we are always one injury away from disaster.
Injuries are part of the game and more times than not its the team that avoids them completely that wins the title, not the team with enough depth to survive them.

I think most would agree that if wall, bledsoe, patterson, cousins couldn't get to a final four then knight, lamb, liggins, Jones and Harrelson had no shot in hell.
The 2014 team got further than the 2015 team.
The tourney is all about matchups. If we are discussing UNC and Kansas as the top teams, there probably isn't a bad match up for us. Those teams are mediocre and they choke. Nobody else's roster scares me. We have a top-3 player (granted he's eligible) and elite players to 7 deep.
We needed an elite wing to be the favorite. Now we're just a team with top 5 talent and a big ass chip on our shoulder.
Of course it would be nice to have a ten deep roster comprised of only 5-star recruits. But it's not just about talent alone. I feel like team chemistry is a huge component to having a highly successful season. I'm interested in seeing how this group of players can mesh together on the court. They might surprise some of you.

Not close? What? I think you have some nostalgia fog on your goggles there, buddy.
Freshman Skal should absolutely be comparable to freshman Jones. The kid is a star.
There's also no reason at all that senior Poy couldn't be as good or better than Jorts was. Freshman Poythress (the year he was featured as the main offensive guy in the post) averaged 11 and 6. Junior Jorts averaged 7.5 and 9 (his numbers trended up that year)
And you're thinking of senior Darius. As a junior, we still called him disappearious and there's no good reason why Junior Lee, finally not buried behind lottery picks, couldn't produce just as well.

I don't think we NEED anything beyond a true SF but that aint happening . Would love to add Murray and or a big man who be the 4th guy inside and could play 5-10 minutes but it aint NEEDED as 3 bigs is lot to play as even this year we only played 3 really since Lyles played the 3. Towns , Dakari and WCS split the 4 and 5 with Lee getting a little time as the 4th man . I would like one more big so Willis can focus on the 3 which is more natural position at least on offense due to his touch from outside.
But as it is this team is at worst the 3rd or 4th best team and that is a great starting point and the rest of CBB is WAYYYYYYY DOWN.
Since most of you are disappointed may I have your tickets at rupp next season?
Your last sentence is the whole point of the thread - we currently don't have enough depth up front, there are no premier recruits left - Cal needs to pull a rabbit out of the hat.
