Tubby? Seriously?????
Alas, the rabbit died.I also am hoping for Cal to pull a rabbit out of the hat.
Far from a solid roster. No scoring from the wing position, he'll there's no scoring other that labisiere. No starting sg or sf. Only 8 scholarship players which is pathetic. He's got a lot of work to do before he can ever think about being competitive. Murray is his last hopeHe's been reaching in his hat and just keeps pulling out dust....nothing left at this point to pull out.
Gotta move forward with what we got. A solid roster but woefully thin and one that may have some major scoring issues.
Duke won the title with 8 scholarship players, and only regularly used 7 of them because Plumlee only got spot minutes in most competitive games.pretty much sums it up for me. I know Cal likes a tight rotation... but there's only 9 scholarship players right now. That's counting EJ Floreal, who isn't gonna play. I mean... really.
Watch it, speaking reality will get you labeled a "hater" and folks will tell you to "cheer for someone else". Hopefully, something will fall into our lap over the summer.I see what you're saying, but there won't be a team next year that would've beaten UK, Duke, Wisconsin, or even Arizona this year. The talent is gonna be down and that's the only hope I have.
well we didn't exactly win #9 with 2 deep at (nearly) every position, let's just see what we can do without depth at every position. At least we have some players who want to be at UK , that should mean something. After reading this board since our loss to Wisky, anything less than a championship is a failure, so if we fail with less depth, can't blame it on the talent, or can we? Let's give these boys we have the same chance we gave the more heralded bunch before we concede anything, shall we? Who know's, they just might pull it off.You expect to win #9 without any legitimate scorers on the wing? I admire your optimism.

Back up your quote, versus calling names - tell me where the quality players, besides Skal, are up front. I said we need more depth up front, tell me why we don't?---
Really, some of these people, starting with the OP, are not just borderline insane, they're full-fledged insane.

I know you're playing it off a little silly here, but I think you're fence-riding, Spear. I think you're dangerously close to being one of those ingrate goobers in the last little bit. Pick it up, man. Mainboarders are supposed to be a more rational breed.Yep. And they're the easiest. How dare they leave for more money/to further their career when they were so crucial to UK recruiting. Damn em to hell.
Having faith in Willis is just hoping in the wind - he hasn't done anything to prove he can play at our level yet. Poythress has always been up and down and very limited offensively. Lee is the most limited offensive player on the entire team, sans walk-ons. So, where is the frontcourt depth and where's the SF who can slash and handle the rock?
We some more players, not just bodies.
Crazy that Cal missed on all of this....
Kennard
Bryant
Swanigan
Newman
Diallo
Ingram
Blakeney
Zimmerman
Brown
What you're missing with only 8-9 guys, some only modestly talented, is when SEC stripes decide to show their ass in some mid-week place like Knoxville or Athens or wherever. You've seen Randle or Dakari get mauled and pawed with no call then they get called for breathing. Fouls will be a huge problem for a limited sized UK roster.
Depending on Willis to get us a championship might be a tad overly hopeful.

no stranger than anyone ever thinking that Jorts would take us to a FF. I mean, seriously....did ANYONE see that?
Not saying Willis will be "the man," but not discounting the idea either.
Disaster? Hardly. We need to stop freaking out and comparing this year's team to last years. It's not fair to these kids. We are going to be a top 5 team, and even with an injury we will still be Top 10. Our starting lineup, in my opinion, is the best in the nation.UK is one injury away from a disaster as it stands now. But I have a feeling Cal is not done yet with this class.
OMG!!!!111!!!
UK is only gonna be preseason top 10. Might lose a game before the 2016 calendar year begins. I need to be on suicide watch. Put me in a padded room ASAP.
Wah, wah, wah, wah.
Some of you all need to get a grip. I've seen a roomful of first time moms overreact less than some of you.
You can't deny that an injury to someone like skal would totally drop us from the top 25. Seems UK has more injuries to key players than any team out there. And I'm not whinning, just being realisticWhat's sad is some of the biggest whiners are formerly decent posters. It's like having a team so loaded that we had to platoon sucked half their brains out. If we don't have 7 lottery picks we're somehow screwed.
As for all the moaning about "who'll score, where's our points coming from, etc", Remember that there are only so many minutes to play and just because someone didn't score doesn't mean they can't or won't, just that they had to ride the pine behind a loaded team. The NCAA history books is filled with stars that shined after they got their turn to shine.
