There was a time I would read a statement from Cal like this and believe him and start getting excited again for the upcoming season, feeling that he really was on top of things and would get us a great team to get excited about the next season. That ship has sailed and I don't trust a thing he says any more. He is just trying to smooth over the waters and attempt to get fans back on his side. Actually, I don't even think he cares about getting the fans back on his side. These statements don't do that. They just alienate more. These kinds of releases are merely about doing the bare minimum so that his bosses - if he has any - have muddied water as to whether they can just fire him for cause.

I’ve said it on here before, but I feel Cal was the bad guy and outsider of college bball for the majority of his career. The media and other coaches didn’t like him. After the 12 title and HOF induction, he got the recognition he craved, and wanted to create this good guy image to end his career. So he went the opposite direction of what made him successful to try and be liked by everyone. It hasn’t worked out, and it is costing him his on court legacy.
The Cal from 10-17 would absolutely laugh and kick the sh*t out of this current version of Cal.

When these freshman kids start getting beat up playing against men and they don't have any back-ups, the losses will start to pile up. And when those things happen, I see several of them checking out at that point so they don't jeopardize their "ultimate goal". We may have to forfeit games by late January.
