I don't remember too many criticizing Pitino's coaching... His attitude towards fans...100%You must not have been around during the Pitino years. I live a coach that’s so confident in his abilities that it comes off as arrogant, Pitino and Calipari both are the same way when it come to that aspect of basketball. Live by the three die by the three is what they said about Pitino, he didn’t cave to the criticism and I respected that about him.
Saw that, on Fox. Didn't know Travis was from Muhlenburg Co. Must not have gotten recruited by UK and has kept that burr in his side. But real good piece by him on the Cal-coal miner story.Dana Perino talked about the story today and UK-hater Clay Travis was on with her and made sure she knew Cal called to give them tickets and gave cal props.
Cal went and found him at work? Guys. I think some one stole our original Cal and now he’s returned.
Terrible life. I'd bet he gets a good job above ground outta this.Had a conversation with a former “deep miner” from Floyd Co. Very interesting, but black lung is an unfortunate reality.
To the last commenter 😂😂😂I am one of those Cal haters that everyone is dying to hear from.
And this is awesome. I’ve had a lot of family members work in the mines in eastern KY. This pic got me choked up pretty good. Good work Cal.
My grandfather, uncles and cousins worked in the mines in W. Ky. And I can remember seeing them covered with coal soot similar to the guy pictured. Hard work, and as you can see, rewarding for a Poppa that loves his son and Ky ball. GO CATS
My older brother and cousins worked in the coal mines back in the day as well…Love the above picture.
Brax, do you know any Cundiffs or Travis' families? My Mom was a Travis, and our cousin-Merle Travis wrote 16 tons. and Tennessee Ernie Ford recorded it. The song is so factual and has a lot of memories for me and my family. I remember going to the company store with my cousins and getting candy and sweets and charging it to my Uncle's account-hence the words to the song, "I owe my soul to the company store." That was in the Drakesboro area in a small place named-Beech Creek. My Aunt was postmistress at the postal facility there.I live in Muhlenberg where coal mining has been a way of life for many years. My brother, dad, grandfather worked in the mines and my great-grandfather actually quit grade school to work in the mines. These dudes work hard. Love this from Cal. That’s my Coach, wouldn’t want anyone else.
Yes, my grandfather’s dad Earl Talmedge Dukes was actually neighbors and best friends with Merle Travis growing up. I have a cassette tape of them talking about growing up and shooting things off each others heads with 22s. It’s pretty wild.Brax, do you know any Cundiffs or Travis' families? Clown.
And Cal still blows as a coach.
I have no idea why this post was dug up....I also have no idea why or how anyone can say Cal blows as a coach. He's won like 900 games. Maybe he has blown recently...but c'mon man...he doesn't blow in totality...you cannot seriously believe that.
