To blame this loss on Cal not calling a time out with a good free throw shooter about to seal the game is just ignorant. If Reed just half way covers his man the game is over.

But he didn't tonight. You were trying to be clever giving him shit for something he did in the past. Judge him for tonight. He talked to the media.
If Rob or Reed do what is minimally expected of them in the final 15 seconds, we win that game. To say we didn't need DJ, but then to be critical of the fact that our guards were exhausted, is extremely hypocritical. But, most people on here don't really understand or care about hypocrisy.
if his dog was so sick...... he should have done the right thing and not came to the game and let an assistant coach. We'd have won the game then.

Both teams played hard. I thought our other two bigs needed more minutes but I get that Ugo was having his best game.
My only gripe is you can't say "they were just too exhausted" at the end of the game but that was who I wanted on the floor ...... unless you either use the 2 TO you have in your pocket OR use your bench more. Pick one. But you can't do neither.
Other than that, the SEC is murders row this year folks. Half this league could beat just about anybody in the country on a given night, especially the way our officials call the games. All the games. Not just ours.

People that cover college sports don't get anywhere trying to be tough. But let's be real, he cuts off anything remotely questioning and rambles about something else. Every time i hear him speak I wonder if the players tune him out as well. The past few years we have seemed to either get worse or stay flat (and inconsistent) as the season goes on.
How stupid! The time to call a TO is before Rob gets the ball. You have two great closers for the game, Sheppard and Reeves, You make sure in a TO that you get it to one of them, not wild Rob. Your relief valve is passing it high to one of your seven-footers. It all makes logiocal sense if you have much less ego than intellect. Even a "Basketball Benny" knows what to do to nail down that win.
What a terrible night of lost sleep just crushed by Cal's coaching for 39 minutes and then abandoning his kids at the end.
What a coach we have. He is always the elephant in the room in most losses. and, as I said at the start of the season, "he is always the elephant in the room no matter what his talent level might be".
It took injuries to start and play your best point guard and lots of demonstrated skills to play Onyenso. Do you think he didn't see in practice how much better having Onyenso at the center position would help our team? He has to run the 5-star players and lose. He prefers to coach that way.
You would think the man would have learned a lesson when he coached at Memphis and lost a national title by not fouling up three with seconds to go. Kansas hit the 3 and beat him in OT.
I suspected it would happen again on his watch and bingo, it did. His BS about freezing Rob by calling a TO was his typical "Get out of Jail Free Card". If Calipari was as good at coaching as he was making excuses, we would have a couple more championships at least.
He should go home to his dog(s) and stay there for all he is worth. We could do just as well with, "Earned Not Given" as the UK coach.

The “journalists” are all Cal nut-huggers. Especially the young ones like Jack Pilgrim who don’t even know wtf Kentucky basketball is supposed to be cause they weren’t alive for it.
That show “BBN Tonight” is laughable. Just a bunch of hero worship and fawning all over teams, players and coaches that accomplish very little.
But the children here call you a "hater," when you continuously notice the obvious, like the fact no one is coaching defense. We haven't improved through a season in 9 seasons. But that is asking too much for a 9 million a year coach. It's FEBRUARY, and they are still playing AAU "defense," and buying ANY shot fake. We have been so poorly coached for so long, that many think continuous failure is normal for this talent level. But never mind me, I'm just a "Cal hater " y'all.

Well said. It's gotten to the point where these so-called fans that are actually staffers start with the "Cal hater" nonsense, I am grateful to see them outing themselves so I can block them. They have nothing positive to add, just attempts to prop up a has-been coach by using old, hackneyed arguments and excuses while attacking real fans for being concerned about what's going on with the program.
