Cal: Humphries signs with Sidney Kings

Must have been homesick or would have been solid to stay here, graduate and have a great shot at the NBA. I don't think the path through Sydney will get him there, but hope it does. 50/50 IMO.

Good for him. I like him.

Anyone know (roughly ) the salary he'll or others make in the league he's in?

Just curious .

I think he should have maybe stayed- feel like
He could have really stepped up and had a good year to possibly get him late first round or 2nd round.

Either way; I'm assuming he's making 6 figures right now and while it's not millions like the NBA - he's sitting pretty nice to be 19 and making low- mid 6 figures.

The NBL doesn't pay much. The stars hit the salary cap for 150000 and the cap is only 1.1M for 11 guys (I think). Isaac is most likely in the 70K range.

Just hope he makes wise choices with his money while he's young

A UK basketball scholly is prolly worth 3-4x that (over 1 year)...

You can't spend a UK scholarship.

EDIT: actually, technically I did as I was offered scholarship credit to help out the music program, but instead of having that be credit hours, I was refunded and had extra money hanging around.

But my point still stands.

Our guys just can't seem to get away from being drafted by the Kings. At least this isn't the Sacramento version.:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I understand and agree with you, but we never know as fans about these kids family situation. Being paid an actual salary to play the game you love while being in your home country doesn't sound too bad to some. I do believe if the dude would have stuck around Kentucky playing for Cal, after four years he would have had a decent chance of playing in the NBA. The big guy would have become a really good post player for Kentucky this coming season. Too bad!

Sydney King...wasn't that the dude (Wesley Snipes) in White Men Can't Jump?
