It may have been talked about here before, so excuse me if so...but isn't it funny how 5 years after Cal raised $1 million to the Haiti relief fund when they had those earthquakes, and then just last year held that comedy festival where proceeds went to putting in filtration systems in Haiti due to poor water quality, that we get a commitment from the #1 player in the class who just happens to be of Haitian decent?

They say nothing is done without an altruistic thought, so I wonder...could Cal have been in on Skal from before his freshman year in high school? Was Skal even on the recruiting radar at that time?

Food for thought...makes for interesting conversation, anyways.

People must be "looking the other way"...both at my post and at the coincidence of the contents of the post.

I love Cal y'all, this just got me thinking a bit.

Maybe Skal respects Cal because he helped his country men/women. I'm not sure else you are getting at beyond that obvious info I just gave.

It's not some notion that's too horrible to fathom - it just seems a little random and conspiratorial to post so long after the fact.

Beyond that, Skal wasn't even known by anybody until that Hamilton guy brought him and another Haitian kid over, several years after the earthquake, to see how they'd fare against steady American comp. Skal flourished and the other did not, and Skal entered the rankings strapped on to a rocket.

Could it be we have a Coach that cares about people, and it happened to pay off when a kid saw the type of person he was through his actions?
