Cal was here for 15 years. He’s a polarizing figure. Of course we’re gonna discuss him. Anybody that doesn’t understand that is weird.
If you think I am defending Cal, you are the one who should stop drinking. I am one of the few who didn't like Cal even when he was winning. The guy has been an @ss for as long as I have known of him as a coach.
I'm ambivalent to him coaching there, but I gotta admit it hurts seeing so many of our ex-players there. They probably can't even use the bathroom without someone yelling "Go!"
To be fair. John Chaney was not the best person or coach.

Nah its the spotlight. Just like pitino referencing us as Camelot, it was never about uk. It is about a place with the spotlight. Thats what cal loves and thats why hes dying inside now.
Even if they have nice attendance, noone else cares about their game. Noone outside that room cares what he says or does. Thats why he continues to throw uk into every interview because its the only thing that might get some national attention.
Hes in a form of purgatory known only to coaches of such ego. 3 years max before hes out. The only question is if someone is dumb enough to let him back in the nba.

Cal left UK (thank goodness) for one of our biggest rivals. Of course we're gonna talk about him. If he had gone to a Cincinnati or a Minnesota, like Tubby, he would be talked about less. He also took three of our players with him so most of us probably didn't like that either.
This will never happen. But when he is announced at Rupp I wish the fans wouldn't react at all. Dead silence would really hurt his ego.
I couldn't agree with you more. I hope there is a movement at the campus to simply ignore him until the game starts and then do whatever to get him worked up.
