Butler looked in good spirits in this post game video

Pope said he was devested and he would pray he could get back on the court at some point so that doesn't sound like a coach that believes his guy is fine.

I think he's done and it just sucks. We were a FF contender healthy but if we can win one game in the tournament, I'll consider the season a success.

We're learning this year that coach treats injuries twice as worse as they are. Not saying that's good or bad, but every injury we have, the player comes back sooner on the given time line he suspects.

If the report is true that this is a different injury than what he currently has, that might be a positive. Reinjuring the same shoulder in the same way is probably the worse case scenario. That's my hope at least.

I mean, they just won a game 2 mins earlier they thought they were going to lose. Anybody with any sense of team is going to be happy in that moment, regardless of their own situation.

Asswipe, anybody with a modicum of common sense knows exactly what I’m referring to. If someone is seriously injured, especially a 5th year senior, they would be distraught over knowing their career is over. Butler wasn’t acting that way.

I actually agree with that, the way he told Kerr it sounded like maybe he wanted to play and Docs said no for the rest of game. That's the optimism I am carrying.

Pope needs to be coy about injury until bracket is set tell media they think they will have him next week for NCAA
Exactly. Don’t give them a chance to screw us. Would be tough to do with all the Top 15 wins — and we did beat Tennessee when Butler went out — but I never trust politicians. Which AD’s essentially are in their daily jobs.

The longer we play, the more likely he can come back.

IDK. I saw some worry and sadness behind Butler's eyes. Maybe just my imagination.
I thought it was pretty telling that he didn’t really celebrate after the Oweh shot or even throughout the rest of the game.

At least we get a tough game tonight to prepare for the likely possibility of playing without him next weekend.

If we’re lucky enough for him to be back at some point, even better.

Collin Chandler is going to be called upon big time. Gotta take his opportunities and was it just me or was he shooting moon balls last night??

Butler always kind of has a smile on his face. I'm not sure it's always representative of what he's feeling. I hope I'm wrong.

Kerr said, “bro, what the fvck was that, man?! Holy shit!” 🤣

He should have a live broadcast option from the bench that the normal broadcast can cut to.

"Kerr...Kerr...what's the energy level on the bench right now?"

"HOLY F**KING SH*T GUYS. OTEGATRON HAS NUTS THE SIZE OF OSTRICH EGGS! I CAN DISTINCTLY HEAR THEM CLANGING FROM HERE! BACK TO YOU GUYS IN THE STUDIO!"

He might play he might not. It does the team no good by saying one way or another. Make the opposing team prepare for 2 different scenarios

Anyone remember Keith Bogans one legged play in NCAAT? I think if he is able to play, without doing further damage he will. Maybe wait until NCAA. Even with him fully healthy going to be hard (if not impossible) to beat Bama anyway.

GO CATS

We aren't a 16 seed for crying out loud. It ain't impossible.

I am still trying to figure out what he did. He made the reverse layup, played defense until the foul and looked like a normal sub out. He didn’t look at all in pain or anything. Just never came back.
The only thing I can come up with is he jammed it on that play where the Oklahoma player bumped into him

There was a moment where he travelled with the ball (it wasn't called, he was surrounded by other players). It was the way he was heavily favoring keeping the ball to his right side. I don't think he was even trying to protect himself with his left arm.
My gut told me "his left arm is dead".

One of the biggest myths on this board is the 2003 game. Bogans still played and had zero to do with being dominated on the boards. Their big guy absolutely dominated and put up 24 and 15. Novak came off the bench and scored 16. They hit six more threes than us.

Bogans scored his average for the season in the game (15) against Marquette. It was just a classic 'shit the bed' game that we have had over the years- aka 2010 WVU.

If he's done were done.

Take the 2 best players off any team (at least 2 of 3 best) watch them fall too.

Butler won't play rest of SECT but I feel he suits up for ncaas.
Respectfully ... Robinson was NOT one of the two best players on the UK team - ever ! Neither, IMHO, was he among the "most important" players on the UK team. We have enough other quality players to take up whatever slack Robinson's injury caused in the short term. Robinson was and is a much-too-passive individual to lead a college basketball team at this level. Again ... just MHO, of course.
On the other hand ... Lamont is certainly a critical player. If he can't play in the NCAA Tournament, that will really, really be a tough break for the 'Cats. If Lamont can't play against Alabama, it won't be earth-shattering, because nobody expects the 'Cats to be able to stay with Alabama. I'll be glued to the game broadcast tonight, just looking for any clues about Lamont, going forward.
And, whatever -- Go 'Cats ! ! !

When he drove the lane on his only bucket, a Oklahoma player swiped him across the shoulder. he scored, the next dead ball, he came out and never returned.

I disagree, especially now. Robinson is a guy who can get his shot and help score consistently and he would be by far the best PG we have left, he is super valuable especially now. Maybe not top 2 but way up there.

He was rounding out to be our 2nd best before he got hurt. After UGA, he averaged 18ppg across the next 7 games, shooting 31-60 for 52% from 3 while also being a capable primary point guard when Butler was in and out with his own health issues. He was almost our best player in that stretch.
