Bridges Tweets

I'm suspecting if you all get who you want in who's left from this '16 Class, you all would end up with Fox (PG), Monk (SG), Bridges (SF) & Adebayo (PF) to go along w/ Kilyea-Jones (PF/C)....am I right?

He is saying "done deal" in reference to MSU, not UK. Not that he says he believes it but that's what he is now being told.
No, he's talking about done deal to UK. Look at the recipients. It's part of this conversation below, which you can tell by looking at the twitter handles ...

@Spartansavages @picasso22233 @sparty_designs @Devious_Clan there r MSU insiders also who heard Bridges was a done deal to UK prior to visit

Where can I read this. Couldn't find it on Jerry's posts (not that I'm good at finding stuff). His post (as written above) states done deal to UK.

Prior to which visit?

Sounds good to me.

On my phone now, but when I get to a computer I will try to find it again.

It was in a conversation he was having. He said it was a done deal to UK prior to the MSU visit. Now he is hearing the same "done deal" talk except for MSU.

Yeah that seems to be the Consensus....we are also heavy after Bolden (C). With Simmons (PG) as the back up plan for Fox, Alkins (SG) the back up plan for Monk and Gabriel (PF) the back up plan for Adebayo. And Jarret Allen (PF) as the back up to the back up plan if Adebayo, Gabriel, and Bolden all go elsewhere which is feasible as we don't lead for any post players currently.

Maybe post the tweets if you can find them. I briefly looked but couldn't find them. Maybe he deleted them?

No...if you follow the twitter convo he was arguing with a Sparty fan who said it's been MSU all along. He's saying no way, even MSU insiders were hearing UK almost a done deal before the MSU visit. So, the point is if it's MSU then it all changed on the visit.

This is correct.

Exactly. And now he's saying he's hearing more pro-MSU.

The next two weeks =

Meyer is to creating recruiting hype what the McRib is to McDonald's: a limited-time shot in the arm when needed. Looks like he is stringing the naïve masses of UK fans along once more, creating hits and twitter followers.

He's a smart business man.

Good point. What's your feel on it?

Meyer knows about as much about recruiting as we do.

He's just able to make a living convincing people he knows what he is talking about.

I think the kid's twitter page probably tells the real story. I'm not sure he'd hype up the State trip the way he did on twitter unless he was planning on going there. We see recruits screwing with fans, but how many of them screw with their hometown fans? That and the fact that he moved up his commitment date right after the trip.

I think he came home, talked with his guardians about committing to State, and they persuaded him to wait two weeks before pulling the trigger, to see if there's any doubt left in his mind and make a non-emotional decision.

Kentucky is still in it, but I feel the kid's heart is telling him Michigan State. Izzo probably sold him on being a lottery pick regardless of what school he picks (not saying that's my view, as I don't view Bridges as a transcendent talent who is a sure-fire lottery guy), as well as playing with his buddies and being a hometown hero on a contending team.

I think it's 60/40 State right now. UK has an outside chance if somehow Bridges looks back at his initial reasons for loving Kentucky in the first place, and values those reasons above playing with a bunch of guys who look to be 4 year players (Langford being the lone exception). It will probably come down to whether Bridges trusts Izzo to get him into the lottery or not. If he does, I think Bridges is State bound, being that Izzo would have successfully negated Kentucky's major advantage.

He left UK without a commitment with BBM on the horizon. I'd say he's all in with Mich St but wanted to make sure with UK or honor the visit and not have to drag this out another month. Its ok to have hope, but it does pretty much read like this. And that is ok. Cal is in on Gabriel more now, so I believe he's of the same mindset.

I have no inside information, but this seems pretty spot on. I think he enjoyed the MSU visit, and he has the anti-UK folks at Huntington Prep in his ear, and that was enough to turn the tide.

I don't know what to think at this point. I find it hard to believe he made a total 180 because of how much fun he had at a big football game.

Just an FYI on Huntington Prep, one of the assistant coaches is a HUGE UK fan/supporter. I know some of the host families like programs like UofL but it's not entirely a negative UK atmosphere as some might believe.

If Huntington Prep guys keep spurning UK, and Huntington Prep chooses to play 8 games in the state of KY this season, why not make a statement and nobody attend these games.

Chris Fisher just switched his crystal ball to Michigan State.

Meyer will undoubtedly do the same by Friday, after he's suckered a few more UK fans into thinking he knows something we haven't yet deduced.

I think it's more likely to be the chemistry he has with guys already committed there. The good news is, he might be playing with them more than one year now that he's opting out of Kentucky.

Bridges, although an excellent player, was going to have a hard time being a lottery pick after one year even if he went to Kentucky. Now, it's slightly improbable he'll be a OAD lottery pick. He might crawl in the 20 range. That's not blue-tinted glasses; that's just a reflection of his lack of transcendence. I would have felt the same way had he chosen Kentucky.

I hope for his sake that he doesn't mind the draft slide. He has Terrence Jones-type talent; he's not good enough to just pick a school like Giles and appear in the top 3 regardless. Every draft spot for him is crucial, and I feel his decision to choose heart over head might come back to haunt him next summer.

Calipari can go all in on Gabriel and Alkins if Bridges goes to State. I love Bridges, but we knew it would be a battle getting him away from the dumpster fire that is Flint.

Where else would he announce though? H-Prep? Doesn't sound good, but not giving up hope.
