HATERS: Calipari hears and ignores you
T.J. Walker | Basketball Recruiting Analyst
Brad Calipari likely won't be on the floor in crunch time this season. The Cats won't go to him with the game on the line. The coach's son isn't a five-star recruit that will be another UK lottery pick.

But that doesn't the stop the 6-foot, 178-pound sophomore from working hard. It's his work ethic that leads him to believe at some point at Kentucky he will have a significant role.

If his performance this summer for Global Sports Academy is any indication, his impact on Kentucky may be sooner than later.

Sutton was the same at the time.

No hating here; if Brad can help, then put him in.

I think Cal has handled it well so far and expect it to continue.

I have yet to see anyone hating on Brad. Who are these people? Certainly not UK fans. When I was in college Herky Rupp was on the team and was the last man off of the bench. We all loved Herky and he had less playing time than any four year player in UK history that I know of.

The coaches son may get some kidding, but not hate. Hate is a very strong word and it should remain a strong word. Feelings UK fans have toward Brad are far from hate.

Have a great season Brad and I want you to play a lot this year because if you do the team is doing great.

The only hate Brad might get is pretending to get hate to create an imaginary obstacle he has to overcome.

I, nor anyone on this board or others I have spoken to, has ever once mentioned anything insulting towards Brad.

Love you Brad, but don't create obstacles that aren't really there. There are plenty of real obstacles you'll have to overcome.

Don't understand why he thinks he has to prove anything. I just don't get it.

Hate him .....no I envy him greatest seat to watch games. And he does have tallent so may be needed . Hope he gets some PT before he leaves.

Brad is projecting because of his insecurities about being handed what he has. I went through a similar issue when I was younger and spoiled. It happens.

The tattoo is all the proof you need.

So I'm gonna help him.

Brad, you can't do this. Everyone knows. It's been given not earned and I don't think you can do anything about it.

Bet he spends an extra 3 hours in the weight room after reading that. He'll become an asset to UK by the time I'm done.

I don't have a problem with Brad. I had a problem with Tubby not paying Saul's tuition and placing him on scholarship. I didn't have a problem with Eddie and Sean. Brad is in the gym everyday like the scholarship players and trying to become better. I don't look for him to play meaningful minutes but he pays the price like every UK player!

Unless I miss read Brad didn't say he received hate from Rafters or any other forum. He said daily tweets and opposing fan bases. A couple posters on this thread were quick to get defensive.

Love having Brad on the team. Love having Cal as our coach. Brad here 4 years plus equals Cal here 4 years plus. Win Win situation. Go Brad get all the tattoo's you want hope the next one is UK #9.

So you didn't read the article. He mentioned tweets and opposing fans but you went straight to he was making it up.

I didn't read it, I'm at work. I'm sure the kid gets flack. Some of it he has put on himself, while the rest of it is from being a successful coaches son.

Well, I hate Brad now. The thought of him having an impact on our roster sooner than later worries me.

Aaahhhhh the stress of being modern day royalty and having parents worth hundreds of millions..........

Never been there or done that. I'm sure it's got a downside?

1. brad Calipari is about 5 inches short of 6ft tall.
2. How does he have haters?

I don't read nonsense articles. This 19 year old kid is complaining about tweets and opposing teams? Ok, what player in the history of basketball never had a bad thing said about them?

This kid is worshiped like a God in Lexington. Literally a rock star. He's a basketball player st UK and his dad is a title winning coach. Not to mention he'd never even play for UK if his dad or BCG wasn't the coach.

The point of my post was to quit inflating this fake news of people hating on the kid when he has so many more people who adore him.

Take Cousins as an example of how to react to "the haters." He had opposing fans calling and texting his phone with racial slurs. He didn't sign up for an interview, he showed up to that team's gym, dunked on a double team, and told the fans to call him. That's how you shut up a few loud mouths.

What haters? I don't recall ever reading here or actually anywhere Kentucky fans complaining about Brad. This is not Saul Smith getting a starting role, significant playing time, and no recruiting of someone for that position.

I still blame the Saul situation on Pitino. What made him think he did not need a backup PG to Turner! Saul wasn't good, but he wasn't horrible. It wasn't the Tubby didn't try to recruit PGs, but other teams used Saul being on the team against us to recruits. But Tubby should have still been convincing enough to recruits to not believe the other teams.
