After watching Alabama and Tennessee put up over 1000 yards, we get this. Don't get me wrong, I love winning but I'd love to see some down field passes.
We are birthplace of Air Raid and Mike Leach‘s team was going wild with it thus far this season until tonight. UK has held Leach‘s team to 91 yards total offense in the first half. But, you are right our offense sucks. It’s ironic because we are the birthplace of Air Raid. The rest of college football adopts the Air Raid outright or at minimum is heavily influenced by the concepts within the spread ….and we go away from it.
We should have leaned into it and embraced being the birthplace of the modern offense once it started to take off in the early 2000s.
Yeah. Our D has played really well and Brad White has called an excellent game disguising the blitz. We are birthplace of Air Raid and Mike Leach‘s team was going wild with it thus far this season until tonight. Because the offense finally woke up. Yes a win is a win. But ask the NFL how those Thursday night snoozers are working out. First you put the games on AmazonPrime and then they are like watching paint dry.I feel better with a 27 - 17 win than Alabama fans do with a 49 - 52 loss, but that's just me. I like CRod running for a couple hundred with a few Levis bombs worked in at just the right times to keep Leech confounded.
I love winning but I'd love to see some down field passes.
Fortunately, the Coaches carefully reviewed this and other threads, and had the team toss for 239 yards to make amends. But, you are right our offense sucks.
Best case he leaves? LOL. We have some absolutely loony toon fans that act like there's a history of winning at UK and that 8, 9 and 10 win seasons just aren't good enough and the coach needs to hit the road. smhStoops is what he is and has hit his ceiling. The good news, the floor should be higher than it's ever been. The bad news, we will always be an ugly team based on conservative offense/defense with some head scratching game plans and mediocre in game coaching.
Best case scenario is that he continues to recruit with the same trajectory and in a few years he takes a different gig. We hire someone who's a bit more Innovative and aggressive and they take us to the next level.
This is funny, were attracting playmakers now we've not gotten before. But yeah we hit our ceiling lol. How many starters we replace on O this year? You wouldn't know, your a basketball guy who watches a few games a year and has visions of 1997 in your headStoops is what he is and has hit his ceiling. Stoops leaving in a few years while continuing doing the one thing he does well and bringing in someone innovative who can take us to the next level is best case. Didn't mean to trigger you, Mama Stoops but recruiting is the one thing he's always done well. But he's bad at in game coaching, doesn't care enough about special teams, and his butt puckers when we are scoring too fast. This is funny, were attracting playmakers now we've not gotten before. Delusional considering that the heavy odds are us going backwards as a program after Stoops, not forward. But yeah, let's scoff at 8 wins + consistently and move on for the big prize: Playoff yearly! smh at some of our fans.Stoops leaving in a few years while continuing doing the one thing he does well and bringing in someone innovative who can take us to the next level is best case. The work he's done is impressive but let's put it in context. He's feasted on 3 cupcakes and a down UL. Most of our coaches only had 3 OOC games and UL was a bit tougher. He's also benefited from a down SEC East. Finally, he has had more support from the AD than any other UK FB coach.
Again, good job taking advantage of what you're given but we need context.
Stoops has two wins against top 25 in 7 games. We’ll be in the top 20 in America and have a solid young nucleus of players. Besides a handful of teams that just recruit at a different level we’re competitive with everyone. If your hope is to be Alabama or UGA it isn’t happening. I hope Stoops stays here 15 more years. The work he's done is impressive but let's put it in context. He's feasted on 3 cupcakes and a down UL. I said best case scenario. Let me type this a bit slower - Stoops has hit his ceiling. There's nothing wrong with that and it's okay to accept that.Delusional considering that the heavy odds are us going backwards as a program after Stoops, not forward. Defense played lights out against MSU and very well against Ole Miss. UT's O is playing at another level but it gives me hope we can slow them down somewhat. Just not confident our coach will play aggressively enough on O to win and therefore will not score enough.Alabama probably feels better with their 6 national titles or whatever it is the past 13 years too.
Let's see how we do in Knoxville in 2 weeks as well against TN.
I heard he ate nails for breakfast.Al Davis
Almost 500 yards for the cats. Held a team averaging 461 to 220. Did not seem boring to me.After watching Alabama and Tennessee put up over 1000 yards, we get this. Don't get me wrong, I love winning but I'd love to see some down field passes.
Just because you type it doesn’t make it so. That’s typing slow or fast. It’s your opinion and not fact.I said best case scenario. Let me type this a bit slower - Stoops has hit his ceiling. There's nothing wrong with that and it's okay to accept that.
So you were happy 3-3 at halftime? The offense opened up more in the second half. Led to a better game.Almost 500 yards for the cats. Held a team averaging 461 to 220. Did not seem boring to me.
