I guess since the tournament is over, the pundits are now allowed to speak about this. He called out Williams poo-pooing the issue, mentioned 20 yrs of fake classes and phony grades, and even said it would have been better if someone else had won. Too bad nobody over there said that stuff before or during the tournament.

Some of these guys need to come out and lay it out there. Not sure exactly what he said but most are trying to be too diplomatic, IMO. It is time to call Roy a liar, cheat and whatever adjective you want.

Just heard Manish Mehta's parting shot, and it was about, you guessed it, the horrible UK fans who are harrassing Higgins. Practically made HIggins out to be a saint, and repeated his claims about thousands of death threats. Higgins made that claim knowing that the press is not going to question it. Nobody really knows the number but I am confident Higgins is exaggerating the number.

Does it matter? They are the champs. I'm pretty sure their fans don't give a shit about what some guy on ESPN says right now. To them, it's just another middle finger by Roy and UNC to all the haters. They can beat their chest about how Roy got it done with middle-of-the-pack top 100 players, and so on, and point their fingers at us, dook, and KU not getting it done with all-world players. Oh well, must be nice.

Jackson, Pinson, and Hicks all top 20 five star players. Berry and Meeks were McDonalds All-Americans. Bradley was borderline 5 star pretty sure. They were loaded with lots of high end talent. The difference is that Ol Roy holds em all back giving him experienced talent. They weren't lacking in talent.

It's beyond the point of calling out UNC, everyone knows they are guilty. Now the focus of the media should be on the NCAA for their lack of response and action for the rampant cheating and fraud that went on at UNC for 20+ years.

Emmert is a freakin joke for his pussy-footing around with all of this!!!

I guess it depends on who you are, if it were Kentucky and Calipari the whole nation would want the NCAA to bring the hammer down. Other teams not so much hate directed at them even though they cheated and everybody knows it and there is a mountain of evidence the sez so. They not only denied it but are fighting tooth and nail to keep from being punished and the beat goes on for Carolina.

UNC fans don't even argue that they cheated anymore. They freely admit it in their own way. They've shifted to arguing the NCAA doesn't have the authority to punish them for HOW they did it. And they are quite confident in this.

And as ridiculous as it sounds, I honestly don't know for sure that they're wrong.

Is anyone truly confident they're going to be punished to an extent that they deserve? Or even confident that they'll be punished at all?

Hell, after watching the tournament this year, I'm not even confident it isn't UNC running the sport.

Is anyone aware of a situation where the NCAA has disciplined a school or an athlete because of academics after the athlete had qualified to get into the school (high school gpa, diploma, act/sat socres, etc.) I know that schools have suspended kids for not keeping up with their academics, but I'm not sure I've ever heard of the NCAA declaring a kid academically ineligible for post acceptance insufficiencies. Is anyone else aware of such a thing?

By middle-of-the-pack top 100 talent, you mean no less than six McDonald’s All-Americans, five of whom were either juniors or seniors (Jackson, Berry, Meeks, Hicks, Pinson)?

The secret in their sauce was break calls that overwhelmingly favored them, poor shooting by their last three opponents, and player retention for sub-elite 5 star prospects.

Those fellas caught lightning in a bottle.

Two-year-long lightning?

I might feel that way had the NCAA stuck to its weak ANOA. Instead they sent an ANOA. They sounded pissed and upped the ante on violations significantly. If they were planning to give UNCheat a slap on the wrist, I don't believe they would have sent the AANOA.

Wut?!

Better late than never I guess. No doubt ESPN put zipper locks on the mouths of their on-air personalities during the NCAAT regarding UNCheat.

This title was won the Carolina Way: cheat for 20 plus years, cover it up, lie about it when caught, repeat lies for several years, have fake internal investigations that find no problems, lie more, get their lies uncovered, deny, deny, change story when true investigation is done, lie more, claim NCAA has no control over classes, that is an Accreditation issue, prostitute the entire main reason for the NCAA to maintain a level playing field for true student athletes, be willing to risk Accreditation as a university of higher learning rather than fess up and admit they cheated, all for wins on a basketball court, failure during the whole process to man up and take the punishment due. The Carolina Way is the way of the devil.

Middle of the pack top 100 players? Where did you get this?

Can I get a witness!

This is like looking in the rear view mirror. Something should have been done 3 years ago. This has dragged out way to long. If the NCAA lets UNC** get by with this then they have open the doors for other collages to cheat and do the same thing. I don't believe much will be done to UNC**.

You forgot to finish add, get every critical call for not just one but 4 straight games and have every off balance flailing shot fall . . .

That's true. UNCheat's mantra now is the NCAA has nothing to do with academics. :uzi:

Only good thing is that they have not been replacing that talent dependent on what Bradley and Berry decides they will have only one five star player left on their roster.Unfortunately I think both return next year so they will be good but not NC caliber good so I hope the scandal continues because the NCAA is not going to hit them and their recruiting misses will finally start biting them

Some fans still do, and the administration definitely does. According to them, the classes were merely "easy" classes, not designed for athletes and if anything was done wrong it was by people outside the athletic department. That's their entirely plausible explanation.

What don't you understand about my question? I'm asking if anyone is aware of a school or athlete being disciplined by the NCAA for academic issues once the athlete qualified to compete under the NCAA guidelines? Meaning, they cheated on a test, or someone did their homework for them, etc. I know of athletes that were disciplined by their school for this, but I don't remember the NCAA disciplining anyone for this.

You really don't believe that he received more than 25,000 calls or message from bitter UK fans?
Eff that jerk. He does deserve any and all of the few hundred calls and messages he got.
