Doesn't anybody here think there is a slight chance Reed said "that" in jest or perhaps just to make mention of all takes on the subject, and/or to just fill in for time? I mean, to read all of the reasons put forth as to why Nike would have never done "that" is ridiculous. Obviously it didn't happen. I did not hear Reed's actual words and I well understand he was the Jerry Tipton before he was fired around Y2K, so I have no desire to stick up for the guy. I was listening to Lloyd Gardner talk about the situation on 680 AM this morning. Lloyd offered some insight on the situation that I don't recall hearing, reading about it, and/or just missed it; NBA Baby Mama.

Never thought about that angle at all. There is a lot to that story in itself. Just Google NBA Baby Mama and you find that is a very lucrative position to be in. Fortunate to be one one and you are set for life.

It makes sense given the players named (targeted) versus the ones not named (Luke Hancock). There is a pattern; NBA potential.

I got to thinking about what he said and I realized the point that which she started was the Barber.

He either knows her motive or is part of it. He knows her and what she is all about. If it was about becoming a NBA Baby Mama, he'll have the background story.

In the book, the Barber went to Katina Powell. How do we know that Katina did not go to him first? It would match her current narrative versus what's in the book. The Barber, if he was willing to talk could tell us a lot.

Wonder why you haven't heard from her in awhile? Pushing a book requires a lot of face time IF you can get it in the first place. Why the sudden stop?

Only the Barber can confirm or dispute their encounter and motive.

Possibilities:

Either he owed her for services rendered and she called the favor as to find a way to create a "future" NBA Baby Mama. Dope was no longer enough payment.

OR

He knew her morality meter always stayed in the negative zone, and he came up with a plan as to gt a cut of the "future" NBA Baby Mama fortune. Like I mentioned earlier, Google NBA Baby Mamas.

OR

She was into him for a lot of money for dope (she loves he smoke) and they cam up with a scheme for her to pay it back with interest. Remember she lays on he back for a "nickel" not a buck.

OR

Just simply a meeting of the minds inclusive of all or parts of the above.

The podcast is not posted as of now. However, Lloyd made a lot of good points in regards to creation possibility of the source of numbers. It is definitely worth a listen.

The barber has refused to comment on the situation for obvious and not so obvious reasons. He knows the story.

Early in the process he thought that someone may have stolen McGee's phone and set him up. To me, that is much more plausible than a shoe company getting involved. If it was reverse and we were a Nike school, I could maybe see one of the smaller companies like Adidas doing this but why would a top brand do something like this to their lesser competition? Doesn't make much sense. But the phone issue is a legit one that warrants a little more looking into.

I mean seriously how many power lines did you grow up under as a kid? The reason Reed keeps having so many conspirators and theories is bc he knows UL did this. His next one will be Mega-Trez was roofied. In fact all the players were.

If he cares so much why does the U of L media ask him the following questions:

If you are concerned about the U of L why did you cheat on your wife and have sex on a restaurant table with a crazy woman, pay for her abortion, have your assistant marry her, and get taken to court?

Why would a coach who loves U of L so much have a brothel operating out of a dorm named after your wife's brother, and have players and recruits paying for sex funded by your assistant coach? It is not a matter of if it happened but only did Pitino know? If he did he is done, and if he did not that shows lack of institutional control. Much worse if a staffer does it versus a booster.

What else would you expect from an AD paying for lawsuits as well as hiring back a football coach who left him before, tried to take the Auburn job which was not open, left the Falcons with a letter, and left Arkansas because he was having an affair with a VB coach and wrecked a motorcycle with her on it - funny thing is he got messed up but she did not. Would never let any family member go to school there for a million bucks.

Funny thing is President Ramsey is saying this is a university problem and not an athletic problem. What???? Are you really that myopic that you want to throw the university out there rather than keeping it compartmentalized just inside athletics? Now I see why the entire university is a sham not only with athletics but in US News and World Report rankings. I would like for someone to ask him what people were involved with this at U of L except for the athletes? This is great.
