Because you need 25 for it to matter. Joker was good at getting 10 to 15 recruits that were worth getting. Remember Towles, Williamson, and Dupree were Joker's recruits. Still that's not enough. You get 10 to 15 solid recruits and all of the sudden a couple don't pan out to be what you thought(Priester, Chapman, Alex Smith), a couple more get into trouble(Caffey, Gainer) a couple more transfer and all of the sudden you have the vacuum that you now see. 10 to 15 just won't cut it. You need 25 to compete in this league. No matter what happens at this point this class won't cut it. We got some good ones but not nearly enough. We will pay a price for this class 2 to 3 years down the road. There's really no avoiding that now. This class now puts Stoops in a situation that he has to be winning in advance of that point. We can't afford fewer than 7 wins now.

We weren't ever planning on taking 25 from my understanding.

Next year, after a more successful season (hopefully), we can load up on the class (if we can get early enrollees). Could be a HUGE class.

Again, I think after Coach said we were doing great recruiting, and then Vince comes out and says we are in for a big finish, I think the least they owe the fans is an explaination as to what the hell happened.

3-4 no big deal, happens all the time. We are now closing in on double figures. Heck even Bob Stoops joined the fray and went after his brother.

I am convinced that something is going on more than just "it happens".

Strowbridge and Riley (even though not a ton of fans were excited about their commitment) can be considered rough flips, since they ended up at NC ST and UNC.

The rest are pretty reasonable, even though it sucks. Ohio State, Bama, VT, Auburn, Mich State...I am sure you'd think of me as a sunshine pumper, but we aren't on those schools' level yet...especially when a few of the recruits were offered by the home school.

The bigger schools flexed their muscle on us...and some of them struck out on their top targets at positions where we had solid players...they came calling. Bad luck...but we have to win, now.

i know the 247 crystal ball cannot be trusted completely but even after news broke last night about texas and FSU getting involved, UK is still trending for marcus lewis. hopefully he commits and signs tomorrow, i feel like if he delays it to take an OV to FSU then they will definitely sign him.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if he goes with FSU. they have played in the last two national title games and are a top 5 program. UK not so much, we aren't even a top five team in the SEC EAST!

Did you miss the post above where UGA has had 8 flips and is expecting 3-5 more? Or where national recruiting analysts are saying they have never seen so many flips before?

Prepare to be extremely disappointed then........We werent going to sign a full 25 player class anyhow (unless a bunch of Rivals 250 guys walked in the door at the end). Numbers wise we were only going to sign 20-22 guys. Looks like we may end up closer to 20 than 15 but at least the quality of guys is there.

He could sign with FSU, or anybody else, and not visit. Not unheard of. Z Smith signed w /UK w/o visiting.

We don't need a full class. We just need the staff to continue what they're doing and coach them up. The wins will come, and when wins come, recruiting will pick up.

But a program like UGA has a much better chance to go out and get a comparable replacement for a kid who decommits
than UK does. History of the program, facilities, bowl games, a NC, W and Ls, etc. There will be some other highly regarded recruits now committed to other schools who will now flip to UGA.....perhaps not so much with UK.

My argument too. FSU will sign 4 or 5* DBs regardless of what Lewis does. But if he signs with somebody else his replacement at UK will likely be lower rated. Very damaging.
